Several weeks ago I sought to take out and then fund one of it's CD's. The overall process eventuated as an exceedingly protracted, and likewise quite ridiculous undertaking.. So ultimately I gave up. However, in the interim a type of credit/debit card was issued to me by mail, even though I had never solicited such. Thereafter, I simply shredded ******** I emailed the credit union, and ending up doing so multiple times as several different of its representatives kept responding. Included my emails were provided several elements of personal identification, e.g., the account number initially assigned to me.The express purpose of today's email was an explicit request that that registered card information as well as all other forms of data earlier supplied be eliminated from their system, as well as ceasing contacting me, either by email or ******* requests were repeatedly refused.Finally, I ceased attempting to have my simple, straightforward requests honored.Review from Max O

I bought a car through their repo auction. Asking price was full retail taken from ********. Car advertised as excellent condition. Brought it home the next the check engine light came on. I co tasted them immediately. They called it an unfortunate coincidence. Turns out the car had not catalytic converters which caused the check engine light. And since the car was purchased in that condition but the check engine light was not on, the code had to have e been cleared. Now $3000 in repairs later they claim no wrongdoing on their part and offer no remedy. Basically they are refusing to take responsibility on principle. They claim no tor be a car dealership but ask full retail price on cars that according to them have had absolutely no mechanical inspection.America First Credit Union Response

As a retired military veteran of 25 years, I have dealt with banks and credit unions in Germany, Japan, Turkey and several US states and without a doubt, America First Credit Union is the WORST financial institution I have been involved with! Two months after financing an auto loan through them I found they failed to order a title for my vehicle. After 2 more phone calls over the next 4 weeks (in which I notified them of being unable to receive another temporary tag after 90 days), they still had and no status update. Now after almost 12 weeks since financing, I reached out to the DMV and was notified that the title was expedited and sent out immediately after it was finally requested 6 weeks ago; however, although AFCU was at fault, they didn't think it was necessary to expedite sending out my title and told me it was in the que! I stayed on hold for 47 mins after requesting to speak to a manager, yet I never did. After letting the customer service agent know I planned to refinance through another institution, I was finally told that my title was being taken out of the que and would be mailed out in 72 hours. I've made 6 payments on my vehicle for a total of $3800, yet I can't drive it because AFCU does not care about providing good customer service to rectify their mistake! Im walked through online sign up for checking overdraft only to have it mysteriously disappear and the only way I find out is the overdraft charge. 3 times Ive done this only to have it removed. Then I call in for the 4th time and am told I never signed up for it in the first place. Taking my money elsewhere.America First Credit Union Response

This credit union is very hard to work with. I have had two auto loans set up with them from the dealerships, but would never voluntarily get a loan from this bank. I have to call to set up an automatic transfer from a different bank, then I have to go in to the branch, nothing is easy on the app. It feels like no one knows how to get around in the system when you call. I have been locked out of parts of my account twice in three months. Similar things happened when my previous loan was set up, there is no updates in over five years to the ease of service. I recommend Mountain America Credit Union if you're looking for a great local credit union.America First Credit Union Response

I am very tired of hearing the statement, "I understand' before they say their actual sentence. This is actually disrespectful. They are lying to three people. 1 themselves 2 person talking to, and 3 the Lord. People don't understand the concerns, frustration or anything else about the other person. They can understand in their own way, but they don't understand another. This statement needs to be deleted in all conversations. I as a customer don't want to hear 'I understand' from anyone in this company again. People need to listen to the customer and stop assuming what they are saying. I have agents continuely arguing with me. This is not professional!!!!People need to stop acting like they are Know-it-alls!!! No one is!!! We are not perfect!!!!We all have weaknesses. No one is exempt from these. We all are required to be humble in those weaknesses and learn from them. We should turn those weaknesses into strengths. It is bad enough that I have to live a life without a job and have very little money for my needs. I don't need disrespectfulness shown to me.There are many people who shouldn't be in customer service, but are. Each manager should interview each person and determine which people truly care about the customer. If they don't and are only there for the money, they need to leave.A lot of growing up spiritually needs to happen. We are all required to do this!!! Thank You!!!!America First Credit Union Response

This is most annoying. I have just emailed the corporate office. The rainbow bank always takes my money and then thank God I always get a receipt. This has happened 3 times they never credit my account if I go to any other branch. My cash money is deposited there immediately. Beware if you want your credit to be impacted negatively. Absolutely no communication will be sent to you, that your auto payment is no longer covering the minimum. I usually plan to pay a little more than the minimum but sometimes, I rely on the auto payment to cover whats due. Found out once they hit my credit for a 30 day late charge, that I didnt pay 40 dollars. Tried to dispute with them literally the day of, that theyre system if flawed, and if Im late they should notify me promptly, by mail, a call, anything that their system doesnt pull out amount due.America First Credit Union Response

AFCU is OFF the Charts . . . Not What You THINK!During my limited new customer/depositor interface was not impressed. ****** cautious on FRAUD to the point of adnauseam! They ask tons of questions every time you reach out to them, delay your deposits with 30 day holds, keep you on the phone for hours. Talked to a person called ******, who would never give me his last name, phone, or email contact info so we could communicate on my transaction. He told me no worries as I am the only ****** here! Well, when I called and told others in their *********** what ****** said, they laughed as we have over a hundred PARKERS! ****** also told me that he would open my new savings account upon receipt of my Cashier's Check which I promptly obtained and mailed overnight, That he'd call the issuing bank and get a verbal clearing to expedite the process, enabling him to open a CD Account once he received the check, he never did. More Calls, More Delays, More Questions, Locked out of my new account online, and the list goes on. I don't think this credit union is named correctly, America First CU is a joke, it should be America's LAST Credit Union! Last in the sense it would be your last and final choice if you were hard up to conduct business with them. Recommend taking your hard earned money elsewhere, you'll be glad you did. Now, I have to wait 30 DAYS to close my account and get my funds back, losing interest and time on a six-figure deposit, that's right a six-figure deposit, and I even have to pay to wire the deposited funds back to me! It takes most bank 10 days to clear a cashier's check, if not sooner, so why do they need 30 days. I'll tell you why, so they can increase their balance sheet numbers and earn money on my money, a TOTAL SCAM. Totally a waste of time and a loss of money, unbelievable!
