To: Farmers Insurance Utah Insurance Department Better Business Bureau *************************** Get Gephart @ KSL.Com I am writing to complain about what I think is an illegal practice by the Zach R********* Farmers Insurance Office. If not illegal (bait and switch), then it is certainly unethical. The insurance office information is below: Ethan B******** Office of Zach R********* Farmers Insurance *** * ****** ** ###-###-#### (Office) ###-###-#### (Fax) Ethan.zr*********@farmersagency.com Ethan B******** quoted me car insurance for $265.40/month. I started to receive an invoice for $850.00. Ethan at Farmers stated it was an increase due to Farmer’s putting my children on my insurance account. My children are all adults and have their own vehicles. 3 of the 4 own their own homes. I had my children fill out at the request of Ethan the “Excluded Driver Endorsement – Person – Utah (UT028 - 1st Edition) and sent them to him requesting he adjusts my invoice. From this point he stated: From this point on Ethan/Zach R*********’s office stopped communicating with me. They have not responded to E-mails or returned my phone calls. I have since canceled my insurance with them and have obtained insurance from a more ethical and honest insurance company. I have no problem in paying them for the few months of insurance, but I don’t believe $850.00 is fair or ethical. They have offered no explanation of this invoice – and continue to not respond to E-mails. I have given up calling them because they do not return phone calls. After reviewing ****'s complaint, I reviewed our records to find out what had occurred. The insured's premium increased due to a driver exclusion form that had not been signed. **** did send this form to us but it was missed as Ethan B******** no longer worked for us and his email was not being regularly watched. I accept responsibility for this breakdown in communication. Upon receiving this complaint, I reached out to **** and apologized for any inconvenience the problem caused. He thanked us for our apology and said that he was okay with us saying that the issue had been resolved to the extent possible. Going forward we will strive to not let things like this happen again.
