I am writing to file a claim against Edgemont Fitness regarding a membership purchase that resulted in an unauthorized double charge to my credit card, and still have no gym membership. Upon purchasing the membership, I noticed that my old card information was still on file. I immediately updated my card information and notified the gym, as per their policy. I received a response from the gym stating that they processed the payment, however, prior to their processing the payment, I attempted to purchase a membership with my updated card information. This resulted in two single memberships being charged to my card, one of which was unauthorized. I attempted to contact Edgemont Fitness to cancel the unauthorized charge, but received no response. I made several attempts to contact the gym via email, sending a total of seven emails over the course of four days. Despite my efforts, I received no response from the gym. The gym does not have a phone number or any other contact information, and the gym operates as an unmanned system, leaving me with no one to speak to in person. I am still unable to access the gym even though being charged for two memberships. I am unsure if this is a result of a system error on the part of the gym, however, they have refused to contact me and continue to ignore my emails. I requested a refund for the unauthorized charge, but my request has gone unanswered. I disputed one of the transactions with my bank, as I am eager to work out at the gym given its proximity to my home. However, I still require the gym membership to access the gym, which I have not received due to the gym's lack of response to my attempts to cancel the unauthorized charge and request a refund. I am filing this claim in an effort to resolve this matter in a fair and timely manner. I request a refund for the unauthorized charge, and any additional compensation for the inconvenience and expenses incurred as a result of not being able to access the gym.
