On December 18, 2023, I entrusted my vehicle to your company for inspection and possible maintenance work. Upon inspection, your staff advised I replace the driver and passenger front control arms, three studs in the same wheel hub, and a transmission fluid flush. I approved the work. Between December 18-21, 2023, my vehicle was hardly in use as I primarily work from home. On December 21 I drove just 23 miles before all the lights on my dashboard came on followed by smoke and burning smell emanating from the engine when I pulled the vehicle over. I immediately shut off the vehicle once pulled over. I restarted the car, but it would not move when shifted to drive. The vehicle was towed to the Big O branch in Kaysville, UT. Their diagnosis pointed towards a transmission issue, reflected by the code P0700. They said that there was no transmission fluid in the vehicle and despite refilling the transmission fluid, the vehicle did not improve. According to them, no leakages were found. Big O Millcreek requested that the vehicle be transferred back to their shop for further examination. They identified empty differentials claiming that caused the vehicle to seize and that the fluid leaked into the transmission and may have caused damage. I sought a second opinion from Mark Miller Subaru, which determined that the transmission needed replacement. Contrary to Big O Millcreek's diagnosis, they stated the differentials had fluid in them and that it is impossible for the differential fluid to leak into the transmission. Considering that my vehicle encountered this major breakdown immediately following the recent services performed by your team, I urge Big O Millcreek to take full responsibility for this unfortunate situation. Therefore, I seek from your company full reimbursement for the cost to replace the transmission and other related expenses that have been incurred due to this inconvenience.
