My son has a car policy with State Farm which he attempted to cancel when he sold his vehicle in mid-February, before moving to ******. I have been checking his mail since he left and found a renewal notice from State Farm which is set for April 24th. I have called the office five times in the past week leaving detailed messages about canceling the policy, no-one has responded. I even called State Farm corporate and they said they would email the office. My last two messages stated I would contact the BBB if I didnt hear from them by today, April 22nd. The Policy #*** 1958-D24-44A for a 2008 ****** 4 Runner for ***************************** needs to be canceled retroactively to February 17th. I can be reached at the email provided or ************, my name is *****************

After reviewing the account for ***************************** I noticed that *** is not on the policy in any form. Since she's not on the policy she has no authorization to make any changes for her son much less cancel his account. I looked over *********** account notes and I did not find any notes stating that we spoke with him in February about cancelling his vehicle. Furthermore the policy has continued to be paid for on a monthly basis giving the impression that the coverage should still be active. If ********* reaches out to us we would be more than happy to get his account updated but until then there is not much we can do for ***. *** is welcome to reach out to corporate or reach out to the BBB but that won't change the fact that she's not on the policy and she has no authorization to make any changes. We also had *** on our list to reach out to by the end of the business day which is why we hadn't reached out to her just yet and we apologize for the delay, just like many small businesses we are short staffed and calling all of our customers and noncustomers back in the order they are received and in level of urgency.

Some consumers may elect to not publish the details of their complaints, some complaints may not meet BBB's standards for publication, or BBB may display a portion of complaints when a high volume is received for a particular business.
