Requested rat-infestation treatment. Claimed they placed bait box, which was already present on property. Have complained numerous times - they sent out serviceman; who set a single trap - no return to check trap. They didn't catch anything; so I bought rat traps - caught 6 in 3 days. Have requested they correct this or cancel contract; I was promised a single free treatment and if still unsatisfied; they would cancel contract. Call back requesting cancellation - $200 contract buy out. Terrible business dealings - a scam. Needs investigation; sub-par pest control trapping customers with outrageous 2 year contract.Business response

We want out of a contract with no penalty. Our pest problem has only worsened with treatment. I had a representative show up at our house with no text or email confirmation. He stated he would do the outside at no charge due to miscommunication and send someone back for inside as we were leaving. No one came back. I assumed they had stopped coming. I got an email today stating they were coming for service. I contacted the company to close the account due to poor service and worsening issue with pests. I am not looking to pay 150 per treatment, or even free treatment with chemicals around my pet and child, that aren't working. She offered free service again in October, but I asked again to cancel because of the issues listed. She then stated I would have to pay 199 to get out of contract and to do so I needed to call from the phone number on the account (though they spoke to me the whole time and she said she saw my number on the account). At this point, I have left the 10/26 appointment (which is supposed to be free again), but want this service closed with no cancellation fee. I don't even care if they come 10/26/24. They offer a service that doesn't work.Business response

6/29 Initially signed up with our salesperson. He mentioned that our neighbors signed up (which come to find out is a lie). He also mentioned that unlike other services, they will spray the entire yard. That day the first treatment occurred. As I watched, he did not do any of the yard then left. I reached out to our salesperson, and he said he had to go get more product. When I talked to the tech, he said he did do it and that he has many houses he has to do and can't spend much time at each house. He eventually came back and did the yard that day. Following that, only one other technician did the actual yard. The other 2 did not. On top of this, we requested technicians not spray 3 specific plants around the perimeter around of our house. Consistently they would drench them, and now they are dying. Last week I rescheduled an appointment to make sure my wife would be home so that she could make sure they not spray those plants. They were scheduled for October 17th. I recieved a text 7:35 saying they would be there in 15 minutes. I told him it could not be that early and that my wife was taking the kid to school. I told him that there were certain plants the need not get sprayed and my wife needs to be home to show you. I asked if he could push it to a later time or reschedule. He never responded. He ended up showing up for 12 minutes (per the service slip) while my wife was gone and drenched the plants we requested they not touch. He also knocked my front porch light sideways. At this point I have had it. I called to cancel the service along with asking to talk to a manager. There is no manger to talk to, only a call center that will jot down your issues. I was told to pay a $199 termination fee to cancel my horrible service. I don't feel like dealing with my plants getting destroyed any more so I went a head and payed it. I would like to get refunded the $199 termination fee due to them lying to me and not doing the service they stated they would do.Business response

We moved into a new construction on 6/15, we noticed a pest problem, especially spiders. Just so happened on 6/21 I get a knock at the door by a sales *** from Aptive asking if we had issues and I explained we did and he claimed they could get rid of it. So I agreed and they treated that same evening. Afterwards we notice the pest problem isn't any better, by week 4 I contact them because the *** said they'd come do a re-treatment for free if we still had issues. But when I contacted they said, "You are actually due for your first standard appointment". So I agreed and paid the $179 for the appointment on 7/24 (they scheduled this on 7/16). A couple weeks go by and I'm still dealing with spider webs so I know the second treatment didn't work either. I contacted them again on 8/19 and complained my pests were no better today than before the first treatment, so they offered a complementary treatment that was performed on 8/22. Two days later I get an appointment reminder that I have an appointment for 8/28, but I contact them and explain I just got one 2 days ago and I would like to wait and see if this one works. It took multiple communications but they finally moved that appointment to September 30th. Unfortunately the third treatment didn't work either so I contacted them on 9/12 asking to cancel my account because their products were not working at my property and I was going to get service from another provider. I had to make multiple attempts to get this done. Now yesterday, 10/16, I receive a threatening letter claiming I'm past due for $199 and if I don't pay they're turning it over to collections. I contacted them immediately and they say I broke contract. They emailed me 4 times in total with excuses on why it didn't work, then wanting me to sign back up for more treatments, etc. I explained, a contract isn't one way, they never fulfilled their end of the agreement and I wasn't going to continue to pay $179 every 4 to 6 weeks for nothing.Business response

Gentleman from Aptive Environmental came to our home to sell us pest control service on August 14, 2024. Stated the initial service would be at a discount of $49.00 and each additional service would be $89.00. Our main problem was mosquitos and so we thought to try it. We confirmed with him that we could cancel any time since it was late in the year and frost would be upon us soon. We had our initial service and an additional service with no results. On October 2, 2024 we called to cancel and was told there would be a cancelation fee on $199.00. This was never mentioned when we asked if we could cancel at any time. He had a tablet and just asked us to sign here and initial there. We were not provided paperwork to read over. To avoid the cancelation fee we asked to pause our service until March 31, 2025, which customer service agreed. However, on October 15, 2024 we were charged $89.00 and called customer service once again. This time they said the service fee is $178.00 per treatment and we would be getting charged $89.00 per month for the length on an 18 month contract for 10 service days. None of this was disclosed by the salesman or we would never signed up for that outrageous price. Was put on hold for supervisor which never came to the phone. On October 16, 2024 I went to the bank and filed a fraudulent complaint against Aptive Environmental. This company is fraudulent and should be avoided.Business response

Early this summer a young man came to our door offering a service to spray for insects around the house to reduce spiders and mosquito activity. I was told that the service would be scheduled and could be changed on line, could be repeated every 3 months, that there was no obligation and the service could be cancelled at any time. No mention was made of a penalty for cancelling. I decided not to continue the service as it had not made any appreciable difference. I have received notices that I owe $199.00, I have talked with some person per phone who says I owe $199,00 and when asked why was told it was a contractual obligation. I did sign what I thought and was told was permission for the service to be on out property. September 30, 2024 I received a letter demanding the $199.00 as it was past due and would be forwarded to "our collection agency A.R.M. Solutions for reconciliation" and that additional fees "may be applied". The return address is: ***********************************************************. I continue to receive emails wanting me to schedule further services. I appreciate your attention to this matter and definitely do NOT recommend this outfit to anyone.Business response

An Aptive salesperson randomly knocked at our door in June. Said he was in the area treating other homes for pest control and offered his services to us. We asked if they controlled mice and box elder bugs and he said yes. The he said we had to sign a contract. We asked if we could cancel if we weren't happy and he said yes. What he didn't say was that there would be a cancellation fee if we tried to cancel it before one year's worth of treatment applications. The treatments have not controlled the mice and kept them from coming in the house (which was the PRIMARY reason for trying this service). Five mice last week and several before that. We want to cancel this service for failure to perform and do not believe we should be financially penalized for doing so ($199.99). Deceptive practice. We believe we were misled and now are stuck paying for pest control that isn't controlling pests.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: We have received no communication whatsoever from this company cancelling this contract without charge. We would appreciate written confirmation of cancellation without being charged the $199.00 cancellation fee.

I signed up for their pest control about three months ago. Unfortunately, their products are not working as I still have bugs and mosquitoes. It's at the point were I can not sit in my backyard and enjoy the beautiful weather because of the bugs. I talked to a representative from Aptive and told them I was not happy with their services. The representative was like oh well there's nothing we can do and I talked to a supervisor as well, same answer there's nothing I can do... I was charged $159 and a $199 dollars for early cancelation. I just don't think it was fair since their products never WORKED..... So, I was charged like $358 in one day!Business response

On July 20. 2024, two young men spent more than 1/2 hour trying to talk me into purchasing insect control. After repeatedly telling them I wasn't interested they offered to do a one time treatment for $30.00 which I agreed to, and only on the outside of the house. I paid by *********** credit card and initialed the box that was presented to me. A month later I received a text saying I had an appointment for another treatment. I again, told them that I never signed up for repeated treatments nor did I want any, and to cancel the appointment. It happened again and I called the numbers and explained that I never requested to continue treatments. On one call I was told that I would have to pay $199.00 to canceI. I explained that I never signed up for continuous treatments. My credit card was charged $97.20 for a treatment I never requested. ******* One looked into it and sent me copies of a Service Agreement, Schedule of Services, and a Notice of Cancellation, which I never saw and never signed. Upon closer observation, it appeared that my initials that I put in the box when paying for the one time service, were stamped in all the spaces on the documents. They are all exactly alike. That is fraud. I have since provided the text messages that I had on my phone to Capitol One and I am waiting for a response.Business response
