I contacted Lindsay Volvo on Thur. May 5th to discuss a 2015.* Volvo **** advertised online for sale in the amount of $19,994. I spoke with Donald S**** & agreed to come in on Sat. May 7th to see the vehicle. When I arrived on Sat. May 7th, I met with Graham B*** instead, who took me for a test drive & explained the vehicle was available for purchase "& was only in need of repair on the right passenger side of the vehicle" & further explained that "the parts were available". (Initially, I was advised the vehicle had been sent out for repair, but found shortly after it hadn't left the lot let to be repaired.) After doing over the numbers with him, I advised I'd call back either later that day or first thing Monday May 9th to come back to formalize an agreement for purchase. I left, calling him back not long after returning home, & confirmed my interest in the vehicle & would return Mon. May 9th. When I arrived on Mon. May 9th, I met with Graham who advised the vehicle was still available; after, we began the process of completing paperwork for financing. (I'd been pre-qualified through ******* *** Bank.) It was only AFTER I'd completed the paperwork AND my credit report was pulled, resulting in a hard inquiry, that Graham told me "the 2015.* Volvo **** I had come in to purchase was in need of almost 5k in repairs & Lindsay Volvo wasn't going to do the repairs; the vehicle would be sold wholesale. This vehicle was the only one I was interested in...no others on the lot! But, Graham tried to sell me a 2013 Volvo **** instead, one with less tech than the 2011 Volvo **** I currently own. Had I been advised BEFORE authorizing my credit report to be pulled that the vehicle I was interested in wasn't for sale, I would've simply not gone forward & left! Because I was not advised of this, I now have hard inquiries on my credit report from Lindsay Volvo I want removed! Lindsay Volvo should've never accepted a vehicle for trade-in that hadn't passed inspections for sale later.
