-Jan 23, 2022, I received an email from myprivia which is a patient portal for my doctor. Dr. ********* -Amount $131 - I am asking for a refund on the charges from /3/19 + 10/25/2019 +4/4/19 =$75 - I am also asking for the $131 outstanding charge to be waived. -Here is the explanation for these charges "Office or other outpatient visit for the evaluation and management of an established patient, which requires a medically appropriate history and/or examination and low level of medical decision making. when using time for code selection, 20-29 minutes of the total time is spent on the date of the encounter.- This seems like it is just a way of them charging for work done due to their own mistake with billing. Background - I can explain and have documents for a further summary. However, a short summary is the office personnel inefficiency caused a delay in the proper submission of charges, which then led to the submission of the charge going beyond the insurance date parameters for re-payment. Also, multiple people are involved and making the same mistakes in submission. As well as, my hours and countless phone calls spent as new people became involved. No less than 3 times was I told "this is taken care of, our apologies".-The amount of time and frustration has cost me goes well beyond the amount I'm asking for. Over and Over again ,sometimes a year in between, I would have to pull out my file to explain this situation and work to get resolved. Thank you for your help.
