I dropped all my seats from my toyota truck back in April. To have them recovered in same pattern and color. I was quoted a price of 1600$ The seats would be complete on July 29. I called day of the 29th. I was informed. They needed more time. I gave them a additional 2 weeks. When I arrived. I couldn't believe the condition of repair. 1st seats was 3 different shades of gray originally. They covered them in BLUE and the material was extremely loose. None of seems matched. Awful work. I told them that's not what I wanted. The guy names ***. Said it was a mix up and they would fix. Needed more time. So I gave them more time. I waited 30 days. I called he wouldn't answer me or return message. I waited another 30 days. He answered and said needed to order material. I went to the business on 10/20. The seats still hadn't been repaired. I told *** I need to take action with court system. He told me the seat WILL be completed today 10/28. I go to business. It's closed and I get no response from phone or their social media accounts. I just want my seats returned. So I can get a reputable business to do repairs. Can you help me?Business response

We have emailed both owners of the property in question. They know that we are serious about getting their property back to them. We have no interest in keeping their property any longer. We are temporarily closed and nobody is at the shop, but we will do everything we can to meet the owners of the property whenever they wish. And when they pick up the seats, they know that they have 2 options. If they like what they see, they can pay whatever they think is fair. We will not require them to pay what was quoted. And if they do not like what they see, they can take the seats free of charge. Seems more than fair. I have yet to hear back. As background, our family put a lot trust in the employees when both owners had their own medical emergencies at the same time in May. And in hindsight, that was a mistake. The owners did not want 4 employees to not have a job all of a sudden by temporarily closing too soon. The old man's health never got better and in fact, got much, much worse beginning in late July. He hasn't been home since, and has started palliative care just last week. Days to a couple weeks is the prognosis. (I just received a call from one of the owners and learned the old man will be starting hospice care today.) Again, we expected the shop to continue operating even if it really slowed down. And usually, when the business is slow, it is much easier to stay on top of jobs and complete them in a timely manner, and really make it look like we know what we are doing. But the opposite happened. I learned the shop had not been answering the phones very well for about 3 months. So it is no wonder customer complaints skyrocketed. And we certainly understand where customers are coming from. It is why we have closed temporarily and quite honestly, I doubt we will open again anytime soon. It saddens me the employees were not able to live up to the standards the owner expected. If the owners of these seats are serious about getting their property back, we imagine we'd hear from them very, very soon. Again, we want to return their property ASAP.Initial Complaint

On November 29, 2018, l put a $400 deposit down on a replacement convertible top for my Miata. Then l couldn’t get the work done because l couldn’t afford the $1229 quoted. Time went by and then l called the owner twice and asked for a refund of my deposit. The first time l called he was rude, and said he had other customers. Today l called again. 3pm 4-8-22 and he said he couldn’t help me. I want a refund. Thanks ***** *********Business response

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Regards, ***** ********* I do not accept this response, because l was not told it was non-refundable, and l was given no receipt with that disclaimer. Therefore, no matter how long ago he took the deposit, l am still asking for my refund. No doubt he gave my top to another customer. Or re-sold it. ***** *********Initial Complaint

Issue happened 1/06/22. I took my 2007 Jeep commander in GREAT condition to Maxeys to have my sunroof replaced. The OWNER told me the full quoted price of $200 for full install. The shop held my Jeep for the weekend and I called every day for updates and was told the sunroof WAS INSTALLED and that they were just checking for leaks. I called them yesterday morning and they told me it’d be $400 to replace my sunroof (after already quoting me $200 BEFORE I dropped my Jeep off. Once I corrected the shop manager (bc the owner is in the hospital apparently) he told me if I didn’t pay him the $400 he wouldn’t give me my Jeep!! So I told them IM COMING TO GET MY JEEP! And that’d I’d pay them what the shop owner quoted me! I had to call the cops and the cops showed up just to tell me I should sue the establishment for THEIR screw up. WHAT HAPPENED WAS they failed to get the right information for THEIR boss, and they caused a giant misunderstanding!! That even the cops AGREED. For days the shop workers had me thinking the sunroof was installed !! I go to pick up my Jeep and the side of my Jeep looks like tornado ran thru it!!! Not only did they mess up my Jeep and it’s UNSAFE TO DRIVE, they MADE me give them the $200 or they wouldn’t give me my keys. THEN they brought my Jeep out and they KNEW it the sunroof install was FAR FROM COMPLETE. So not only did they just make me lose my Jeep! I have no money to replace what they messed up! I ALSO LOST MY JOB BC I HAVE NO JEEP AND MY JOB CONSISTS OF TRAVEL!! Their MISTAKE COST ME MY VERY EXPENSIVE JEEP AND MY JOB!!!!!!!! They didn’t even apologize or offer to FIX it, but they sure demanded my money and messed my car up beyond what I can even repair myself!!! I was told to report before suing, and even still I have a very strong winning case just given how they made a mistake and still took my money knowing my Jeep was a WRECK. They owe me money, time spent, a fixed sunroof OR MY MONEY BACK!!!!! And a NEW JOB!!!!!Business response

We have the car today to finish up. The headliners ware put in. The vehicle will be ready this afternoon.
