i got this loan over a decade ago. It was sent to Firstmark by Loan to Learn. I cannot get a settlement offer from the servicer or loan originator and I feel I have more than paid this money back two fold. I would like to get an agreed upon settlement amount from the originator and get rid of this but I keep get sent back and forth with no avail. I am ready to settle this and be free.

In April of 2006 I took out a private student loan with Loan to Learn in the amount of $5250 with an origination fee of 10%. In total, I received $4725. I started payment the very next month May 2006. In September of 2012 I defaulted on the loan due to financial hardship.I tried to work out a payment plan with this company but the amount they were requesting was more than twice the amount I was paying monthly. The loan was then put into collection. 2 law firm contacted me, namely ******* Law firm and **** law firm. Confused about who is collecting agency, I tried reaching out to Loan to learn but they refused to talk with me and said this was now a legal matter and I should contact the law firm. After calling both law firms it was confirmed that ********’s Law is handling the debt collection. A payment plan was set up and I signed a stipulation. I paid $6,206 after the stipulation was signed. I missed a payment and before I could contact them, my bank account was levied. I had a pro bono lawyer who was assisting me with this matter and we presented an offer in the amount of $4000 to settle this debt but it was reject by Loan to Learn. My financial burden due to this company has affected my mental and financial well being. In 2019 my wage was garnished at 25%. I wrote to the levying officer as this was severely affecting my ability to provide for my children as a single mom.The wage garnishment stopped after a few months. The account was closed on all 3 credit bureaus by 2020. In January of 2022 the amount listed owed was $5,250 and is now open again . I called Loan to Learn and they stated that they no longer has the account but was unable to tell who is the collection agency. Today my credit score drop 85 points , the balance is now $7,250. This is unfair reporting as I have already paid 3x the amount borrowed and shouldn't owe a penny. i need to know who is the collection agency so this can be settled and stop negatively impacting my livelihood.

I have received a call from this business at my grandmothers address saying that I owe them money. I couldn't even contact this place because they had an outside source contact me and on their website, which is also poorly done, has no contact number. They are attempting to collect a debt from me which also hasn't even gone to collections. I made it clear that all my supposed student loans they are trying to collect on are in fact up to date on payment and aren't due until May 2022 due to Covid. I would like more information and would like to say any money this company is saying I owe is false. I have not even received any mail about this debt.

After finding out at the last minute before selling a house I own, I was informed I have a judgment lien against said house. I've tried to call as many numbers listed for this company so that I can pay off the lien, to only find that one of them works and I only reach an answering machine to which no one returns any calls. This company is a total shill.
