It is simply that I went to get an auto repair. They checked it out and told me my car would need a transmission. I asked them how much it would cost for a transmission and they said it would be around 1,600. I was happy with that price so I authorized the repair to be done. They then called me back after the repair was done and finished, and told me that the price I had to pay for the bill is 5,300. They then added 3 other parts to my car that I did not ask for before the work was done, but they said that they did not charge me for those parts and I said of course you shouldn’t I didn’t ask for any of those. So they took the price down to 4,600 which they claim is “helping me” and I don’t find it fair that I was told before the work was done that it was going to al be 1,600 and now they are asking me for 4,600. I need help with this business as they have raised my price by a tremendous amount. I had a budget before hand when the initial estimate price was given to me and that was around the 1,600 they told me it would be before the work was done. Now the price is 4,600 and I am a college student following my budget which first lined up with they’re initial estimate price and now it is far above that. This is not fair business to me as a costumer whether it was purposefully done or even if it was an honest mistake on the auto body shop’s part. Either way I as a costumer shouldn’t be liable for that mistake on their part and should have to pay the consequences in a 4,600 bill that was not agreed upon before the work was done. Also, it is the responsibility of the auto body shop to provide me with the cost of the parts, labor, and time it will take to complete the repair. When I asked the shop why they had told me the price would be 1,600 before the work was done they said that they only shared with me what the labor would be which is not fair. The labor was only around 1,100, while the part was 3 times as much.Thank you BBB for reading my problem with this business.
