Last night September 28th, I was rented a room that had been flooded. The carpeting was sopping wet. The entire room was damp. The bed linens were damp. They felt wet. All surfaces felt wet. I discovered only after removing my shoes before going to bed. I was exhausted from a long drive. The staff (female) and manager (male) pretended not to know. The price gouging was already taking place due to evacuees traveling south to north out of flood zones in ** and **. This one star motel was charging $180 per room. But my room was uninhabitable. I put my dog back in the car. I left at first light. At 1:00 on Sunday the manager was hostile and accusatory. He felt he was entitled to $160 for this unhealthy, dangerously water sodden room. Paint had been used to cover up old water stains in the corners and walls! I think I m entitled to a full refund due to exposing my health to this mess and for the disrespectful treatment of my complaint.
