**** and his team did a fantastic job. We had hired another company to repair the front steps on our porch. They used the foam method to try to restore the foundation. But it didn't work very well and it left a space between the porch steps and the deck of the porch. We hired ****** company to come and replace it entirely, and they did a great job. The crew was very timely and got the job done in just 3 days. We are very happy with the result.

On May 18, 2023 we had 18 ½ cubic yards of concrete delivered to our house for a patio project by Mottern Masonry. After completion of the stamped concrete patio, we commented to Mr. Jeff Mottern that the patio project looked great and we were very happy with the way it looked. Mr. Mottern aggressively requested our feedback in multiple emails, and provided multiple links for us to submit feedback. We replied to Mr. Mottern that we would like to provide comprehensive feedback to include not just appearance, but quality and cost. After we questioned Mr. Mottern about the quality and cost of the patio, he provided false claims about the volume of concrete used for the job, and other false claims about why the cost was fourteen thousand dollars ($14, 000) above the cost of the concrete. Mr. Mottern responded by email on June 12, 2023 that “We are done and through. If u like the job like u said u love it we r good”. Mr. Mottern does not understand how to calculate the volume of concrete required for the area and depth of a patio. The patio project required 18 ½ cubic yards of concrete delivered at a cost of four thousand four hundred and fifty dollars ($4550). Mr. Mottern claimed in multiple emails that the patio required approximately 35 cubic yards of concrete and we were charged eighteen thousand six hundred and sixty dollars ($18,660) for the total cost of the patio. We are submitting this feedback to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) so that future customers are not misled about the cost of masonry products provided by Mottern Masonry. We would like Mottern Masonry to address these false claims made regarding significant over-charges based on incorrect concrete volume calculations and difficult site access. My wife and I are making efforts to ensure this does not occur to other residents in the Northern Virginia area and are eager to settle this matter.
