On 2/21/2021, *************************** inquired with Blue Hill Farm B&B to get a quote for a wedding venue. On 2/22/2021, we received a quote for an all inclusive package for 100 guests for $10,500. Please see the original email we received attached. I toured the property on 12/19/21 where Waldo of Blue Hill Form informed me that it cost $1000 to save a wedding date. Waldo advised us to save two dates, one as a primary and one as a backup. On 1/24/2022, we sent $2000 via *****: $1000 for 9/2/2023 (primary date) and $1000 for 9/23/2023 (backup date) to Waldo. When I inquired about the status of the proposal/wedding template on 2/27/2022, Waldo informed me he had not begun working on it due to the upcoming spring/summer 2022 weddings. Finally, on 10/13/2022, nearly 8 months after I initially asked for the final proposal, I received it. In this email, Waldo informed me it would cost $19,079 nearly 2x what I was told in the 2/22/2021 email. While the original proposal was for 120 people, not 100, an additional 20 guests should not equate to a $9,000 increase. When I asked why the price went up significantly and quoted the 2/22/2021 email I received with the estimate, I wasn't given much of an explanation other than Pricing is a tricky situation only because we offer so much flexibility and different options. The original intent in providing any pricing was to discourage and weed out those with a sub $10k budget from falling in love and wanting to do a tour etc. That's not good for anyone.I called on 10/18/2022 and Waldo said he'd create a new proposal while being mindful of our budget. I received the new proposal on 10/21/2022 for $12,514 which is still $2,000 over what we were originally quoted in February 2021. We decided not to move forward with Blue Hill Farm B&B as our wedding venue and asked Waldo to refund the $2K to us via ***** by 11/7/2022 at 5pm. Waldo did not meet this request and has not responded to any other emails since.
