DR power equipment sells gas powered mowers in hilly ******* without cautioning that these fail on hillsides because the engine's oil flows into its gasoline and sends up a dangerous cloud of thick smoke.A customer spokesman told me after my bad experience that the owners manual contains a warning about this malfunction. But new buyers don't see that manual until after they've bought the equipment.Review from Joseph H

Bought a ** 26Pro. After delivery and assembly added required amount of oil. Started mower and started to move it (self propelled). Did not make it 10 feet when motor failed. ** and ****** and ******* will not pay for motor replacement, stating lack of oil. Repair shop stated the oil level was good. ** did sell me a replacement motor at cost.Review from john s

I bought a ** *** XL trimmer mower. It had a defective ****** and Scrap'n 8.75 engine on it. ** refused to replace it. They told me to take it to a ****** service center. The ****** service center told me that there was nothing wrong with the engine and charged me $80.00 for doing nothing while still under warranty! Now after less then 20 hours on the machine the engine won't even start! ** no longer uses this ****** and scrap'n engine in their trimmer mowers because ****** will not honor the warranty on their defective engines. My mower is no longer under warranty and ** wants to charge me for a new ************* knock off engine. ** should not have sold this mower with a defective engine. They should have replaced this engine with the new engine when the mower was still under warranty! ** and ****** and scrap'n do not ***** their warranties and the ****** engines are junk!Review from john r

If I could give less than a 1, I would. If I could give a negative infinity, I would, but they actually make you rate them as if they are a in any way acceptable. After waiting 9 months for a product to be ship because they need "a part" they finally send an email saying the product is ready so I call them to make sure I have the money in the bank. That was in late July. Three days ago I got an email saying estimated ship date is September 30, 2024, that is another month from now, that will be 11 months, and per my understanding they are not waiting for a part now. I bought a total gym online it show up in three days. ** is going and 11 months and they wont ship it then either. Something seriously wrong with this company, I feel for the people that work there. I will NEVER do business with DR Power Equipment or Generac again, ever, and I suggest when you see this company, just stay far away. reading other comments here regarding product issues, I am glad it has never shipped.DR Power Equipment Response

I bought DR pull behind brush cutter less than 2months ago and have had problems with it. First thing is that the spring tension is way to tight, the spring has broke and then I called DR ******** ******* and they sent me a new one but in the meantime I went to Tractor supply and put that spring on and it worked great and once I received the new spring from DR it was put on only broke again so again I put the Tractor supply spring on with less tension and it works fine. 2nd issue it the the bolts to the muffler system on motor came out and again I call DR ******** service and they wanted me to pay a deposit per the dealer to fix it, I called and was told that DR would pay for it and call me back which they never did I had to do all the following up call after call and I sat at the dealer only to be told that they will not fix it till DR gives them the deposit, on hold with DR ** for ******************************************************************************** and they REFUSED to take it back said Im stuck with it! Horrible I rather return it and get money back. I will follow back up with the outcome. But on a positive note there were some great ******** service reps that were trying to take care of me but it is all on the big supervisors that make these decisions.Review from Katharine C

I wish I could give zero stars. We have the DR ******* 26 Field and Brush Mower. When we first received our machine, it was a safety hazard. You would switch it to the off position and it would not turn off until you choked it out. So it had to be fixed almost immediately. And we lost the machine for weeks. Following that, it breaks about every 2 to 3 weeks if not sooner at the recoil mechanism. Weve had it replaced and the same part continues to break. When you call customer service, it takes at least 20 minutes to get someone on the phone who will be wishy-washy about whether they can send you parts or if that would void your warranty. They claim theyre going to call you back and never do. They dont answer emails. They do not care about you as a customer. I am a veteran farmer who needs tools to work, especially when *** paid thousands of dollars for them. The best they can do, when you finally get someone on the phone who knows how to use a computer, is they will tell you a place that YOU can call to get it fixed. So you can anticipate leaving your equipment with a repair shop for 3 to 4 weeks before they ever look at it or order parts. Then anorther few weeks to fix it. DR ********************** makes poorly designed machines and when those machines break, their customer service and dedication to customers is abysmal. Save your money. Terrible customer service and quality. Stay away - purchased a $1700.00 lawn vac four years ago and have nothing but grief with the hose tearing and the canvas ripping at the seams. Total garbage! Tried to contact technical support and have been on hold and no one ever answers. Check the reviews before purchasing - sorry we did not.DR Power Equipment Response

Thank you for your review. Each of our machines comes with a standard two year warranty and can be extended by three years. Making the warranty coverage 5 years total. So, if the materials (non-wearable) are faulty then they will be replaced under the manufacturers warranty. The models from four years ago are no longer in production and newer models have since been put into production. If you do have the extended 5 year warranty, please contact our technical department directly to see if a warranty order would be a possibility. They can be reached at **************.

Upon watching and reading several content about DR ********************** Brush cutters, I purchased 3($6000) mowers and shipped them to ***** to be used on my farm. I personally read the manuals and put in the recommended oil and checked it with the dip stick. In the process of using it, 2 out of 3 mowers engines crack and bust which left a big hole in the engine. I took pictures and videos and sent it to the seller since the machines were less than 3 months old. I requested for a replacement of the engines, but rather they wanted me to pay for a new engine claiming the machine could not be used on a 20 degree angle. None of their user manual said nothing of that sort. Upon going back and forth with them DR power equipment, they gave me a number to the nearest service technician to contact to assess the machines. After several attempts in trying to reach the service technician via phone, I went to their office to be told, they don't service that type of engine and also the mother company does not pay them on time so therefore they don't work on the machine but if I have my own engine they can install it for me for a price. I reached out to DR ********************** and related the technician respond them and also to get my engines replaced but yet they wan to sell me an engine on a discounted price. I feel like I have been defrauded. This is very disappointing and I will not recommend anyone to purchase their product.Review from Robert H

This machine could be sooo much improved!My personal customer help experience was surprisingly great but I shouldnt have to be a technician, an engineer or a tutor.D.R. is trying to help me but this is not what I expected!I purchased this as a gift for my rcently widowed sister in law with hopes of helping with the huge raking and bagging issue every fall in *********.Her excustomer service experience was the exact opposite of mine and is the reason I'm complaining.My representatives name is ******. He's the only possative part of my purchase.In the meen time shes raking and bagging leaves at 78 years old.Review from Patty A
