I went to Bella Vie Nail Spa on Saturday, September 16th. There were no cars in the parking lot and no customers in the salon, only employees. I requested a gel french manicure (on my natural nails, not added tips or fake nails), at which point I was told the cost would be $50. This seemed high to me, but I don't go often so I wan unsure of the price. The nail tech asked twice what amount of tip I was going to leave her, then proceeded to ask the cost of my designer purse. She said because I "seemed like a nice lady" - she would make me a deal and do it for $35 but because she did that for me, I need to leave a "big tip of $50 or more". At this point I was feeling very uncomfortable and borderline harassed. When it came time to check out, I gave her a $20 tip in cash for fear I would continue to be bullied. I was scared of this woman and the only other people around were also employees. I was just trying to get out of there as fast as possible and with as little friction as possible. On Monday September 18th, I called and spoke with the owner who confirmed the price is supposed to be $35. He said to rectify the situation I needed to go in, have my nails assessed and bring my receipt. However, I no longer had my receipt and obviously I paid the tip in cash. I am also uncomfortable entering that establishment for fear of further interaction with the woman I had to deal with a few days prior. I am seeking justice. I would like to be paid back - in full and apologized to. It is unacceptable to run a business in which when the owner is not present employees make up prices to compensate for a slow day of work, taking advantage of honest paying customers. I was taken advantage of, swindled out of money and bullied.Customer response
