I went into bayside to buy a specific coin a **** classic head liberty 5 dollar half eagle. ****** said he had it and showed it to me and said it was authentic coin. I bought it for $700 for my partner in 2018. My partner decided to sell it on ***** He listed it and immediate got feedback saying it was counterfeit. We decided to take it to ********** coin to have it checked out and within a minute the owner said it was counterfeit. We then talked yo an attorney to ask for advice. She said give them the chance to refund us the $700 , the original cost. We went into Bayside jewelry and showed the coin to a different staff and he said it was counterfeit. We produced the receipt and he got heated that we said if he didnt refund we would go to the police. My biggest problem is that ****** the staff member reassured me when I bought it that it was the real deal. But when I went back to return it on the 24th of February 2023 it took them no time to say it was counterfeit. Both times I went there they tried intimidating me. I was refined the $ but list out on an investment income.Business response

After reading the complaint that was sent to you re a coin that was purchased from my store in December of 2018, plus looking at the receipt the employee who helped with the transaction was not ****** but a previous employee, who is no longer with us. If the customer felt there was a problem with the coin, why would they contact ********** Coin and not come straight to us to question it.When the customer came in and and handed me the coin and asked what I thought I took out a loop to examine the coin and noticed it didn't look right and told them I felt the coin looked suspicious, at which the customer instantly showed me the receipt and got loud and saying he was going to contact the police and his lawyer if we didn't refund him the money. I asked him to calm down, and that he didn't need to make threats because that's not the way we do business. After ensuring him I would refund his money and went to get it, the customer actually "apologized for overreacting to my employee that was in the room as this scenario was taking place. At no point did I get heated as stated by the customer, thus it was he who apologized to my employee for his over reaction. There was never intimidation, we have been in business for over ****************************************************************** for taking proper care of the situation and he said he didn't mean to overreact. At this point I am confused why he thought it necessary to contact you.
