September 26, 2023. My husband, ***, called 1st Choice Plumbing and Repair LLC to repair two outside faucets. ******, the assistant manager, asked *** the problem, which he did. She said that her repair techs would be out the next day. She asked *** for some pictures of the faucets and hung up. She never mentioned the flat fee or how much to come out and repair the faucets. The two techs came out Sept. 27, 2023 at 11:00 am. They knew the problem from the pictures we sent and had the parts and repaired the faucets in about 10 minutes and charged us $161.81. I thought this was too expensive so I called ****** at 8:05 am Oct 2, and explained to her that we are senior citizens and live on a fixed income and had no idea that there was a flat fee and that she never explained that to my husband. I thought the charge was too much so she said she would talk to the manager. She called back and said the manager would refund us 10%. I feel that 1st Choce Plumbing took advantage of us.Business response

This complaint is against 1st Choice Plumbing & Repair and has nothing to do with Performance Plumbing Repair **** We have never done business with this customer. We are not associated with ************************************************* & ********************** **** Please call me with an update we would like this removed off of our company's name. The phone number is incorrect also.

I would like to contest this complaint. I spoke with ****** on the phone originally, I asked if he wanted an estimate or was wanting someone to just take care of it. He stated he would like someone to just take care of it. I sent my technicians there with the pictures he provided as we ask all customers to provide pictures so the technicians come as prepared as possible with what they can see on picture form. ****** wrote the check and never said anything about the price to my technicians as we charged the normal hourly rate plus materials. There was no flat rate, so I don't know where she is coming up with that. Then 4 days later is when I received the phone call about the bill from the wife who was rude. I apologized for not telling ****** the hourly rate as I asked if he wanted an estimate, and he said no. She explained they are seniors and that is when I apologized again as I don't know by a phone call someone's age. The owner stated to give them the senior discount. I informed her that we would be mailing a refund in the amount of the senior discount. That is when She told me that we should just keep the check as we needed the money more than they did and she hung up on me. We had another customer in the office at the time of the phone call and they heard everything. I was never rude, nor did I hang up on her. I called around to verify what others charged for the same service. I cannot verify that someone is of such an age that they mix things up as she stated her husband did and because I did not just state the hourly rate. He seemed perfectly capable of handling a phone call for service and was able to fill out a check for the amount at the time of service. If *****************, we took advantage of him I feel he would have stated that at the time of service and not days later through his wife. We had two technicians there and he told them thank you as he filled the check out at the van with the technicians. I'm my opinion if someone is not happy with a bill, they would normally say something before they fill the check out and would not thank someone for their services. I have had plenty of seniors call and they usually state they are seniors and ask for a discount and they ask for the hourly rate if they are concerned. We have called places ourselves for services and asked for a service we don't get an hourly rate unless we ask that.
