We recently had a very nice technician replace a few rollers in the bottom of our Pella slider door.The entire process took him all of 20 minutes. He told us the office would contact us with the total amount due. I received a call from a young lady who told me we owed them $400.00.I was sure I heard her wrong. When I asked how any company could charge so much for 20 minutes of labor and a couple of rollers she casually responded that they "just charge by the job."I asked if the rollers were made out of Titanium or pure Gold, and if the technician was paid more than any other trade by a long shot. I also explained that we were seniors.She told me the laobr was $180.00 (that's more than $360.00 hr. by the hour) and that the parts were $220.00. She eventually shaved off $60.00. We still feel like this company is scalping anyone doing business with them - but then when an administration is run by all family - ************ looks after family eh? No one should try to justify such gouging and charge such absorbadent ******** for parts and make such huge profits off their labor force at cusomer's expense. We feel totally taken advantage of. Next time we'll hire a competent handy man and save hundreds of dollars. ****** learned. We give the employee high marks for his expertise and attitude, he earned them an extra star here, but the company gets a failing grade for ripping people off.
