I have had all the contact with this company that I care to. The outcome I am seeking, even thought I would lose money, is to be left alone by KTHomes. No more harassment and bullying, no more contact of any kind by anyone from the company.

If you require more information, please let me know. I am relieved to assist you in any way I can, and I certainly value your service.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

I have not received anything from you regarding this complaint since my August 6th input. I'm not sure what is happening between the BBB and KT Homes, LLC.

This morning I received a letter from an attorney representing KT Homes, LLC.

      Please advise.

      Re: KT Homes
      Dear ******************:
This law firm represents KT Homes, which has performed remodeling work at your home.
Several employees of KT Homes and its subcontractors have raised serious concerns regarding
your conduct at the job site. Your improper behavior and comments have led these workers to
refuse to return and perform further work. You will need to retain another contractor to perform
the minor remaining tasks that were identified in the recent walkthrough. KT Homes is willing
to credit you $800.00 toward that work being done.
With that credit, there is currently a principal balance owed to KT Homes of $9420.71. If you
choose to pay that balance by credit card, there would be an additional fee of $329.72. We
request that this balance be paid promptly.
In order to protect its rights, KT Homes will record a lien against your property on August 27,
2023. Upon payment in full and withdrawal of your Better Business Bureau complaint, it will
record a release of that lien. If payment is not promptly forthcoming and if the complaint is not
withdrawn, interest will accrue on the balance owed and you may be responsible for KT Homes
attorney fees if legal action becomes necessary. Please make arrangements to clear this balance
and withdraw the BBB complaint immediately.

      Business response

KT Homes has a contract with ****************** to perform remodeling work at Mr. ******** home. While providing such services several employees of KT Homes and its subcontractors have raised serious concerns regarding his conduct at the job site. His improper behavior and comments have led these workers to voice concern with KT Homes. KT Homes addressed such conduct with ****************** to no avail. With continued actions by ****************** after being addressed the workers refused to return and perform work.

KT Homes acknowledged the workers concerns and removed them from his remodel job. Further, KT Homes has since notified ****************** in writing that KT Homes will no longer be performing work on his project. The work left to perform is very minor and considered blue tape/punch list items. KT Homes gave ****************** an $800.00 credit to have these items performed by another contractor of his choice.

KT Homes is owed $9,420.71 by ******************. The first we heard of his concerns was when we were contacted by the BBB. Instead of ****************** contacting KT Homes directly to discuss any concerns of the companys quality of work, he has made the decision to create an erroneous complaint with the BBB. As we regret this is the avenue he chose, with still no communication from ****************** despite our and or attorneys continued efforts to resolve this matter, we are awaiting the response of ***************** regarding KT Homes final request of him to cooperatively resolve this matter before we use legal action.

      Correction to my last message.

KTHomes abandoned the project June 30, 2023 not May 30th, 2023. More than 90-days have passed since labor, services, materials and/or equipment were furnished.

      Customer response

      10/03/2023

      Resubmittal with corrected dates.

      I rejected this response because

KTHomes was contracted by ****************** to complete two phases of work after a 50% payment paid 8 April 2023. Phase payments were due after phase completion, a quarter of the contract due at job completion. The project was to be completed in three to four weeks. Final furnishing of labor and materials ended June 28, 2023.

KT Homes abandoned the contract June 30, 2023. By KTHomes' frequent admission, the contract had been underbid beyond remediation; work during the project was continually pushed to the end of the project.

In addition, work done by KTHomes staff and subcontractors was without adequate supervision. Remedies cost KTHomes and further delayed the project. ***************** acknowledges his refusal to pay in advance of what the contract required.

Delays, remediating work lacking supervision, shifting work to the end of the project, and intimidation were issues throughout the contract. Thus the contracted timeline lengthened, and a disproportionate amount of work (and cost) was placed by KTHomes into the final contract phase [and never completed]. ********************** efforts were always to uphold the contract.

On 30 June 2023, ***************** became aware of KTHomes' intent to cut losses, abandon the contract, fire the supervisor responsible for phase two of the contract, and demand a full final payment. KTHomes, LLC has not furnished labor or materials since June 28, 2023.

Since July 1, 2023, the money spent to complete contract work that KTHomes abandoned is currently in excess of $15,341.95; far more than KTHomes would benefit from acknowledging. Instead, KT Homes is indicating the $15,342 amount ****************** has spent on the abandoned contract work is worth $800.

KTHomes, LLC repeatedly violated this contract without any remedy or remorse by demanding advanced payments, delaying and abandoning work. These issues are paramount. There is no foundation in the contract for the funds they seek from ******************
