I went for an eye exam last February 2021 I provided my insurance information and I paid my deductible. Now a year later I got a **** $139. It seems that they failed to summit a claim to my Insurance and now they want me to paid for it. I received a voice mail last month from Modern Eyes this time asking to paid less money. Today I get a $139 **** again. I don't think i owe anything.Business response

**** provided us with the wrong insurance card at the time of the exam. It was his dental health card not his medical. We sent a claim to the address of the *** that we have in our system for medical claims. We received notice from the insurance company, no member found, which would make sense because it was his dental card that he gave us. There was no deductible collected at time of service, the whole balance was submitted to United Health Care. He called asking about his balance due. We told him we would write off a portion of the $139 exam, if he would just pay for the $40 refraction fee which is the part of the eye exam that gives the prescription. We felt that was fair because there was fault at both parties. He presented us with a dental card and we didn't notice that it was a dental card at the time of the exam.
