The date of contract was June 3, 2022 *********** was to replace gutters, garage roof and siding on the house. The siding was installed incorrectly. The siding was overlapped and too tight, causing dimples in the siding which can be seen on sunny days. One piece of siding has fallen off 3 times and the corner post on the house was cut too short and has a 2 inch gap around the piping for the electricity causing water to seep in. *********** has not put cover on the electrical outlet.*********** tried to pound down protruding nails but, did not solve the problem. I was told to pay for the work first and then the company would make a claim for the siding. I was told that it is not the siding that is the problem but, the way that the siding was installed. *********** now refuses to do anything about it.

      Business response

      11/29/2023

In regards to the complaint at *********************  There are multiple pieces of information that are left out in his complaint, some of which I should have taken as a red flag and voided the contract.  First and foremost the homeowner has kept over $700 worth of shingles that were scheduled to be picked up by our supplier, homeowner stated that insurance paid for the materials and it was his.  We did not do an insurance proceeds contract, we did bid work, even if it was insurance proceeds he is not *********** keep 18 bundles of shingles, the employees are efficient and do not waste material so the fact we did not use all 50 sqaure of material does not mean he gets to keep it (this should have been red flag number 1).

Second, we require 50% down when materials get delivered, of which he did not provide any payment for the siding.  He has been informed that no warranty will be provided nor will we touch anything else until payment is made.  He has said multiple times the check is written out, well we haven't seen it.  When we did not receive half down we should have had the material picked up and left, this is my fault and we will never operate like that again.

Lastly, the homeowner wants all the siding taken down and new put on due to it being nailed tight and poor installation.  We have had 4 different people look at it with over 100 years of experience and this is not the case.  To appease the homeowner we called the manufacturer and they came out to look it over, no issues.  I supplied the homeowner with the email, then i was informed I am scam artist, and a bunch of things.

In regards to the homeowners existing nail issues, you either pound the nails, down or pull them out, not sure what else a person is supposed to.  Yes there were nails missed (there are thousands of nails on the exterior of a home) which we have gone back to the home and addressed, if the homeowner sees one was missed, we will come take care of it.

We do guarantee our work when we are paid for it but we cannot continue to sit around an do nothing and have started the lien process on their home.  We would have loved to come to a resolution with the homeowner but it seems as though it is not possible.  We would still come out and address any issues the homeowner may have but we will not spend any more time on his property until payment has been made.

I have served in the Army over 20 years and we are not in the business of scamming people.  We do not do any advertising and all our work is referrals, so to be insulated over and over again by the homeowner and called scam artists and crooks is ridiculous.
