1.5 years ago, I purchased a Dowco motorcycle cover from Revzilla, for a Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus EZ Zip Motorcycle Cover. The price was $139.60. I was willing to pay that due to the warranty and the quality promised. The product ended up failing at the seams, within a year, and when I contacted Revzilla to return, they said Dowco's policy was to deal straight with them. I contacted Dowco and they said if I had the manufacturers tag in the cover, I only had to send a 12 inch strip and the tag back. But, since I couldn't find the 1 inch tag, I then had to send the ENTIRE cover back, at my expense, So, even though their promised product failed, I'm expected to ship the cover back, at a cost of $30, and $10 dollars to ship a new one back, versus less than $2, to send the strip with the tag. That seems REALLY, really wrong to me. Their product FAILED! I didn't want a refund due to color or something frivolous. I don't feel they met the expectations of the sale agreement. I paid the money, their product failed, I feel I shouldn't have been expected to then, pay so much more, just to get them to adhere to their warranty. They disagree. How is this legal to have such a disparity in service? $40 dollars is a lot to me, not to Dowco. Sure, $40 is less than buying a new cover, but, if their product held up to the advertisement, I wouldn't need a new one already! From their page: "Dowco provides a limited warranty to the original purchaser, for their products to be free from defects in material and workmanship." I don't feel they are standing up to their promise, and now, that I've complained to them, I feel they might magically find some issue with my claim, and not refund me anything at all., after I sent it back and spent more $$$ to do so.Seems like a REALLY bad business practice that isn't made clear until you actually fill out the warranty form online.:( ************************* Thank you for your time.Business response
