So I sent *************************** from Three Rivers Sober Living ************ a 300 deposit while I was in Residential treatment where I couldn't leave without a pass. I told him I could go look at the house on ******* Ave ********* on that *** and give him the down payment then. He insisted he wanted it then to secure my spot. So because I didn't want to lose the spot I sent him a payment of 301 through Venmo (The extra 1 was because I originally sent 200 by accident and sent it as to a business so he incurred a fee) then I sent him the rest. I looked at the house and it was filthy, there were holes in the walld and past residence things slewed all around in the living room. He also promised me a room on the second floor and that was not available. I told him it looked like a college house and I didn't even feel it was conducive for me to remain sober. He became upset that I was talking badly about one of his houses even though all I said was true. He did agree to Venmo the deposit back. So then I received a text response - "I already put in business account so I get taxed Min 33 percent so I'll send you back 201." I sent him texts back that I was not sure how this was my fault that he promised me the money back not 2/3 of it. Also that he promised me an upper room which wasn't available and this was a terrible way to do business. I then never heard back from him. Hope you might be able to help me. I just moved into another sober living house which is way better and less expensive but I am strapped and could really use the money I was promised now. Thank you.
