I am contacting BBB in a effort to ensure that I receive fair and unbiased treatment of a complaint I filed in April 2024 with Quest Homes, LLC (aka Property Connection, LLC). On April 12 2024, I notified the business about the conduct of their Park Manager who was retaliating against us (i.e, inciting other residents against us, aggressive behavior, extortion, etc.) to get out of a contract made in Sep. 2023 to pay his nephews debt for a repair job that was done. In July 2024, the business talked to their manager and he agreed to pay. On July 7th, the manager stopped payments with no notice and is now making false claims in a effort to extort money from us for services that were part of his role as manager. He now claims that we owe him $400 and has told us not to contact him unless its related to "the trailer court". We notified the business again about their manager and we were told that it was a "private civil issue" and that these things are "best handled between neighbors" yet they provided no comment about his attempted extortion. We have a current yearly lease with the business that clearly states park rules and their manager does not follow or enforce most of the rules. We strongly believe that our complaint was mishandled due to preferential treatment towards the manager so we are seeking an unbiased review. We would like to settle this outside of court with the business directly. We want a review of the $400 in charges that the manager claims we owe and an explanation from Quest Homes, LLC regarding why there was no bill or contract for services he claimed. The manager's claim that we owe him $400 should be formally retracted. We want Quest Homes, LLC. to reinforce the professional behavior of their manager; he should not be allowed to use his managerial status to intimidate us into paying him (i.e., extortion) or threaten our right to peaceful living. I want a prompt resolution to my complaint(s) since it was in April 2024 that the complaint was filed.

      Business response

In response to the complaint that was filed, Id like to provide the following information as I understand it.

First, Id like to say we had no prior knowledge of any work being done by anybody nor was our office notified of it until afterwards when there seem to be a problem with payment. Apparently *************************** who is *************************** nephew had some work done on his home. He allegedly agreed to pay for that service on his plumbing and did not. ************************* thought he would help out and give them $50 towards the Repair as he felt bad about his nephew not paying. Understandably the tenants would be upset if they didnt get paid, whatever was agreed on , but I think they would be after ***************************, who would owe the money in the first place. After not being paid for the work, the tenants decided to make the problem *************************** and are saying he is responsible to pay his nephews ****. ************************* said he has been helping mow the grass for the last two years on there lot and did not ask for any payments so thats where the $400 came in.  he just thought he would set the record straight that he was helping cut there grass and did not ask for anything in return   They are asking him to pay his ********************* then he would be asking for payments for the mowing that he did the last two years. Hes not really asking for that money, but just trying to prove a point that he was helping them out and never asked for anything and yet they are asking him to pay a bill that is not his. We did respond and say that we felt it was a dispute between those parties and not anything to do with quest ****** or Property Connection as we had no prior knowledge and did not make any recommendations. I did talk to ************************* and he said he would go back and see if he could get his nephew to pay that ****. ************************* is just trying to help resolve the problem. Hopefully this helps clarify things.

      Customer response

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Quest Homes, LLC. has continued to try to sideline the original reason behind the complaint and their involvement. Please refer to the original complaint attached. We came to Quest Homes, LLC. in April 2024 to mediate between us and their Park Manager who was instigating other residents, behaving aggressively, and currently attempting to extort money. They allowed his behavior towards us to continue and tried to turn this into a private civil issue between neighbors. This does not address our original concern. If it was only about money we would have filed a small claims case. Instead we came to them for help in dealing with their employee's unprofessional and illegal behavior. We requested a written and verbal apology from the business and Park Manager and have not received this. Until we receive this it is unresolved.

      Regards,

      *************************
