We recently went into this dealership and wanted to buy a Tundra. We were told that we COULD NOT buy a truck unless we ADDED two warranty products (almost $4K) and $5K of accessories PLUS full MSRP. So, even if we just wanted to buy a truck for full MSRP, yes ... the sticker price - we could not. We ACTUALLY had to make an offer - like on a house. You have GOT TO BE KIDDING. Not even sure what would we buy for $5K as the truck was already loaded up. And we were told that because we were local, we would have a leg up. BUT we still had to COMPETE with customers all over the country who would be willing to pay $8K ABOVE MSRP. So ...not sure how we had an advantage because the truck was already close to $70K and they wanted to bump it up, forced us to finance it, etc. - to make more money for the dealership to 'accept' our deal. This all came from *****, the owner and ******* the sales associate. Honestly, an embarrassment of bullying and "Tied Selling" (look it up) which is AGAINST the **** How this dealership gets away with this is beyond me. And residents of *********, ********* and closeby ... STAY AWAY. ****** in this establishment.

    Alpine Toyota Response

    24/02/2022

Unfortunately the current new vehicle market is upsetting for some clients at this time, and the lack of vehicles to sell is very frustrating for both the seller and the buyer. Alpine Toyota has experienced an unbelievably high demand for new Tundras, especially from out of area clients such as *********, that have never done business with our store in the past. Supply chain and inventory shortages have created an environment where we can not even supply vehicles to our current clients. Having so few vehicles to sell creates the need to make deals containing protection products like paint sealants, undercoating, 3M and accessories very important to our small town store. ********* insisted on needing a truck right away, and was offered a vehicle that was slated to received some Toyota factory accessories. She was quoted with 3M, a protection package with an option to finance, standard quote with the current market conditions. We apply these two products to most new vehicles arriving to our store, and feel they are an incredible value to our clients. ********* let us know that she could have been interested in the protection package and 3M but not the accessories. They decided not to buy the Tundra made available to them.
