I purchased a dishwasher and fridge Aug2022. Total cost was $1,655.99 + tax. At this time I also paid for 2 yr extended warranty. That total cost was $149.99 + tax. I contacted the store on 02May2023 because my icemaker stopped working and that I was not even able to remove the ice tray. After some back and forth messages with the store I was told the icemaker was not covered under warranty, but was provided with a replacement ice tray to install myself in case that corrected the issue. I contacted the store on 28Oct2023 because my dishwasher stopped running and was showing an error code OC. I was contacted back 31Oct2023 with a suggestion to try. I also searched online and found a video to clear the OC code. I tried that and it worked only until halfway through a washing cycle, then displayed OC again. There was some back and forth with the store between 31Oct and 02Nov2023 (last email from the store). On 02Nov2023 I requested a replacement machine under my warranty. The store has not responded to this date and any attempt to call the store is useless because the call always goes to dead line. Please help.Initial Complaint

On June 27 I sent an etransfer of $2213.75 for a set of appliances to be delivered to the Moncton location of the store. I was guaranteed all appliances to be in working order as I was buying them sight unseen through email and pictures. All appliances were purchased with a 6 month warranty after receiving the appliance I installed them at my cottage in shediac after a couple days the fridge still wasn't cold I notified ***** after a couple weeks the fridge still wasn't cold I was told I have to bring it back to the store to get repaired because they have no mobile repair person. I notified ***** that my spouse was alone in New Brunswick at that time but when I return I can drop it off. After that I had 0 responses from the company after a few emails still no response so I returned the fridge to the store the employee was unaware that my fridge was to be repaired I showed him my emails with ***** so he took my fridge and said he will do his best to get it fixed after weeks still not fixed no replacement fridge was comparable to the one I purchased was offered. After having my fridge for 3 months they closed the Moncton location I still have no repaired or replaced fridge. It has been 5 months I am out $1000 approximately for the fridge plus I had to buy another fridge from marketplace and pay to have it delivered to my cottage as I was out of province at the time. The store refuses to send me a refund for my fridge they refuse to deliver a replacement to Moncton since they closed that location I just want this rectified and at bare minimum get refunded for a fridge that never worked and they have at the store I feel like they stole my money. I have attached screenshots of my invoice from email but can forward all emails if needed. Also the main number for the store doesn't work any more I have been using *** *** **** ** *** *** **** to contact a salesperson at the store.Initial Complaint

Not an ask but a buyer beware regarding appliance purchase. This company is a bunch of scammers. I needed a new to me fridge and saw a lot of ******** marketplace ads for Appliance Warehouse located at 230 Wyse Rd Dartmouth NS , 585 Sackville Dr & 1050 McLaughlin Moncton NB. You can reach them at (902) 466 – 5582 I went out to speak to them and was advised they sell new "nicks and dings" appliances and had 2 of the model I wanted. I asked the sales person the damages on both units and went with the one that was better. told it was new and one minor ding in the front of the freezer door. I agreed on the purchase price based on this information. My fault. Arranged a truck, went back for the firdge before closing. The girl put the fridge on the sidewalk then closed the store. The fridge has way more damage than I was shown. It was in a row of fridges and I recognize now I should have had them pull it out and for a better look. Images avail on req. The first photo is the only damage I was told it had. Plus as an ** this company offers a 1 year warranty. Got home and had to take the doors off to get it inside, screw is stripped and the inside of the fridge is dirty. Not a new fridge. In addition the track on the freezer was broken. The freezer also frosts up the top shelf. I went back & forth with the owner who agreed to a 350$ refund, I keep the fridge and the warranty repair on the freezer tracks. Warranty guys have text 3 times in 6 weeks to repair the freezer... twice after 10am and once after 1:17pm to ask if I could be home same day for a warranty call. They refuse to book an appointment or even a range on a predeterminded day. I offered a time and got silence. The owner has since ghosted me on the refund. I went to the store, refunds happen from head office, they cant help me & dont have my address. I went to the repair shop today to get the warranty parts. I arranged my own technician to repair it. The part they gave is also broken.Initial Complaint

Wee are ******* ****** and **** *********. 2* ***** ******. We purchased a washer and dryer from Atlantic Appliances in Lower Sackville on Oct 5th .The salesperson we dealt with was *****. She showed us a ******* washer and dryer, stating that both machines had been thoroughly checked and were ready for use. We even inquired about the age of both machines on two separate occasions, and each time, she assured us that they were only 6 years old and had no reported issues. Technicians had supposedly tested and confirmed their condition. Upon bringing the appliances home and installing them last Friday, we encountered several problems. The washer began leaking, causing our floor to be flooded with water. Furthermore, when we used the dryer, we discovered that it was not heating properly. We attempted to run the dryer twice, but it failed to dry our clothes. In light of these issues, we contacted ******* Care to verify the age of both machines. They confirmed that the dryer is over 11 years old, and the washer is over 10 years old. We are extremely disappointed with this situation and the level of customer service we have received. We spent $1035 on these appliances, and now we have two items that are essentially useless, along with a pile of wet laundry. We spent 65 CAD to have the washer and dryer delivered from the Sackville store to our home. After one week, we went to the store because we received no response and no answer on the phone. The technician informed us that they would send someone to investigate the issue. As of today, October 17th, nobody has called, and no one has responded to our messages as well. It seems like they are actually scamming people.Initial Complaint

On August 15th I purchase a ** wall oven from Atlantic Appliance Wholesalers at 230 Wise Road formerly known as Discount Appliances. When I took it home and hooked it up, it didn't work at all. I called them and they sent out a repair man the next week who opened it up in front of us and said the motherboard was missing and it would take 3-6 weeks to get one. I called a week later to see what the progress was and I asked to speak to the manager. His name was ***** and he only contacted me by text (which I found out to be only a text line). He assured me that the part had been ordered. I texted him a week later and he said the part wasn't available in Canada and he found one on ebay. I text the next week he was looking into it, so I said I need an oven and if they can't fix it, I want my money back. That was the last time he responded. When my husband, who is disabled (we are seniors) and I went to the store on Wise Rd. , all of the appliance were gone. they had a simple sign stating the entrance was now on the left side this was at 3:20 in the afternoon and no one was there. I went back alone the next week and I was so upset and I spoke face to face with ***** who was the manager and he would not give me his last name. He said they have a store in Lower Sackville but would not give me the address. He also said that they do not give any money back. They do make you sign a contract that states they will give store credit. I called the police but they said they can't do anything. These people know all the loopholes. I contacted my local repair man and gave him the model number of my wall oven and he said that no parts are even available for that oven. Why are they allowed to do this? I went to the courts and they discouraged me so bad and said even if I win that doesn't mean they will pay. Now I will settle for a replacement, but I can't find them. They do not answer the phone, email or chat on their website. Please help!Initial Complaint

I purchased a Fridge from Discount appliance in April 2023. They told me that it just had a new compresser put in it. I only had it for about 2 week and the sound coming from it was horrible. I called and emailed. I was asked to record the sound, email it to their office and a technician would get back to me. I did so. Two weeks after, I hadn't heard from anyone, so I called back and was told they didnt see the email. I made them check while I was on the phone and was told "I'm so sorry, but we missed it, we'll have our tech have a look at it and get back to you." That never happened. I came home after work last night to find my fridge had died. I left a voice message and called first thing this morning. I was told to unplug it for 4 hours. I did. I turned it back on and the only thing that started back up was the freezer part of the fridge. I spoke to Discount appliances by messenger to document. I was told that they do not have another stainless steel fridge to give me, but could give me a loaner for now, however, it would be my responsibility to take the broken one back and pick up the new one. Now if the tech had have called me back or even emailed me back, I would have agreed and took it back. However when I questioned her, she said the earliest she could have a tech come out would be next Tuesday. I asked her what inwas supposed to do without a freezer until then, and no response. I'd like the money back that I spent on it. Not an instore credit, but the actual money, and they can have their fridge back.Initial Complaint

Purchased a fridge from this organization on May 4 with the agreement that it would be delivered in working order before the end of the month. It was delivered on May 28 and plugged in on May 29. The fridge portion did not work. I made arrangements for them to repair it and it was sent back on May 31. I then waited for information and repeatedly messaged the company asking for updates and never heard back from them until the end of day June 9 letting me know that it could not be repaired. I went into the facility to pick out a new one. They only had one that met the size specifications and it also needed repair. I was messaged finally on June 18 that it should have been deliverable on June 19. That day I contacted them and no response. Eventually discovered it was left connected to gas and no one knew how to remove and could not deliver. Here we are at June 20 with no fridge or delivery in sight. I have paid cash for a working refrigerator which has yet to be provided. I feel as though I literally have no recourse to rectify this problem as they make you sign a contract on purchase that states they do not do refunds and offer only store credit. All I really want is the fridge I ordered and paid for so my tenants can stop living out of a bar fridge. I spoke with ***** at the facility and she blamed my size requirements for the entire issue. However, they have now sold me two fridges meeting that requirement and neither have been delivered in working order. Date of first transaction: May 4, 2023 Cost: $517 with taxes included + an additional $80 paid in cash to the delivery driverInitial Complaint

I attached the email I send to them explaining the situation before file the complaint. No answer or anything. I send them that again. Nothing. I need a washer and dryer as I have been waiting for the ones I paid for almost 3 weeks. I will buy new ones as I cannot wait more for them to solve anything. That's why I want a refund. The appliances have a 6 month warranty. They never worked and I have to buy new ones. They did not offer to repair or exchange in a timely manner. They just offered to pick them up, repair them and bring it back after at least a week more. I said ok. Make ASAP. Nobody picked the appliances up. I got a call on Sunday saying that someone would pick them up in 2 hours. I needed more than 2 hours to get home a Sunday. Told them I could be there in 4 hours and no call back. I went to the shop to ask what was the plan. There was no plan. I told them they could come to pick it up, repair or replace it Monday or Tuesday. Nothing. Nobody reach to me. I don't know what else to do. I need the appliances. I sold the dryer that was working fine and now I have nothing. They are not fullfilling the 6 months warranty and sold appliances that never work in first place which is fraud. The technician with who I spoke told me they did sell appliances not working to more people. And one is was a washing machine that flooded a basement. And they did nothing to fix it neither. So I know I am not the only one in this situation.Customer response

I bought a ** refrigerator on January 6, 2023. The total, including tax was $1609. I was given an extended warranty on this product. 3 months later the frid** started making a loud buzzing noise. I called and left 2 messages about this and no one got back to me. One week later, the freezer stopped working. When I called the store about this the woman I spoke to said that repair could only be done in their warehouse and that I was responsible for the cost of transport of the fridge. So I asked her to clarify this and she agreed that my '3 year warranty' actually comes with about $150 - $200 of transport fees and I will be without a frid** for days. She did offer me a 'loaner fridge' that I would also be responsible for transporting. At no point during the original transaction did they tell me that service was not done in the home. Had I known this I never would have bought the fridge. It is a fridge, not a pair of shoes - it is not something that can be moved easily, nor should it be. Moving it could very easily cause further damage. Additionally, because they incur basically no cost for the repair, it removes any incentive for them to get it right. I spoke with 2 other appliance repair companies who said that they could fix that type of repair on site, so I am sceptical that this repair is not something that could be done in my home. I have absolutely no faith in this company to successfully repair my fridge. My first choice of resolution here would be to get a refund - I have no faith that this frid** will be successfully repaired by them. If this cannot be accommodated, I think an in-home repair is reasonable and at the very least they cover the cost of transport.Initial Complaint

We purchased a washing machine from Discount appliances Inc. 230 Wyse rd Dartmouth on May 23, 2022. We were assured even tho the company was in Dartmouth they sourced repairs to fundy appliance in Truro. We got it home and the first load we put threw it, it was making a grinding noise. We kept using it for a little over a month then inquired about a service call. We were then informed there was no service contract with any business in Truro we would need to bringbthem the washer. We told them we would not have bought the washer if there was nobody to fix it in Truro. We brang the washer back to Discount appliances @ 230 Wyse rd. They refused refund and sold us another washer for with instore credit plus more money. While we were there we were told the previous owner had problems with it agitating with clothes in it but it was fixed and she thought they just wanted a different washer anyway. In Aug 2022 we told Discount appliances @230 Wyse rd the washer was not agitating properly it was going off balance constantly. Aug 27 we return that washer and got ANOTHER washer for instore credit and of course $62 more. This washer she swore would be good apologized for the bad ones and gave me 9 months warranty to make up for the bad experience. This washer stopped agitating properly so I again contacted the same people. She said the warranty was only 3 months and they will not replace the washer or return the money. We need to Bring them the washer for the 3rd time in less than a year to fix but she doesn't know if we will be charged. They are now trying to blame it on overloading even tho the first 2 didn't work right as soon as we got them and the third was weak and now doesn't work properly either. They want me to contact a text plus number for customer service.
