My 11 year old emotional support animal fell out of my bike trailer. I called the vet for an appointment after seeing blood coming from his paw. He only has 3 legs, and hasn't been able to get around on his own for some time. The first receptionist told me they didn't have any availability, and recommended that I take my dog to Hamilton or London. I don't have a car, so that isn't an option. She kept saying they didn't have anything for weeks. I asked for next availability. She tells me not to raise my voice. I mentioned he might need to be put down. She again tells me not to raise my voice. I asked if she could stop berating me and just let me have the appointment time. She tells me she's not berating me. I disclosed that I have a mood disorder and she was escalating me. She threatened to end the call, so i ask if i could speak to anyone else. Another receptionist was listening to our conversation and started by saying she wasn't berating me. My dog is bleeding and I might have to have him put down. Can i please just have an appointment. She told me she would hang up if I raised my voice again. I said I was panicking about my dog being in pain. She hung up. I called back and asked to speak with a manager. I explained that I am just trying to get an appointment. I understand they don't have an appointment for weeks, so i asked if he could be put on the cancellation list. The manager started off by telling me that she wasn't berating me, and that I was demanding an appointment. At this point I was in tears begging. My dog is in pain. You want to talk about how esclated I am instead of helping. Even if I proved the staff were berating me, there would be no accountability. Can I please just get an appointment time? He refused. The last time went there was a policy to call upon arrival. I don't even have a mobile. The manager tells me that policy was only in effect during covid. I understand, but me explaining I didn't have a phone was what became such an issue.
My mom called to book an appointment and didn't receive a call back. I have not yet booked another vet, as ********'s history is mostly with EVAH
