February 16, 2024 I went into Subaru of London to put a deposit on a 2024 crosstrek. -At this time they asked for a $500 deposit. -The car that I was currently driving was not in good shape and I had asked them if my car died and I needed to get a car before they could provide me with the one I order would the deposit be refunded. -******************* the sales representative at Subaru of London did assured me that if my car did died they would refund the full $500 deposit. Two completely different people I was interacting with and two different days -one about the refundable deposit -one about the lease agreement At this time I had no idea the two agreements had any correlation, because the conversation I had with ******************* earlier was on a different day. And I was told the deposit was to hold my spot in line. February 23, 2024 I went into Subaru to sign all my paperwork regarding the lesse of the Subaru -March 19, 2024 -my car has died and has been pulled off the road. I was transparent with Subaru of London about this and let them know that I am I need of a car. At this time Subaru of London tried to sell me on a different vehicle that I could take immediately. But I wasnt prepared to lease a vehicle I didnt order. March 20, 2024 After I declined to take a different vehicle they told me your crosstrek maybe 3 weeks I tried to come up with a plan for getting to and from work wile I wait the three weeks but I was unable to. March 22, 2024 I had emailed Subaru of London to inform them that I could no longer wait for the crosstrek that I had ordered and I had boughten a used car. I expected them to hold up their end and return the deposit but they simply said You had signed a lease agreement and the deposit was non refundableI have yet to see any documentation from them stating this in the lease agreement and they have yet to send me any other documentation with a non refundable deposit contract.
