My mother passed away almost 2.5 months before her planned retirement party at this establishment. She was almost finished paying for the venue. Upon her untimely death, I went in person and spoke with ************** ( event coordinator) about a refund of all monies paid by my mother with the exception of the deposit. After she stepped out of the room to speak with the owner, ******************, she came back and told me that they couldnt refund me any of her money. I was dumbfounded, shocked, and overcome with emotion upon hearing this denial. I just sat there crying for a few minutes because I had just loss my best friend, my confidant-MY MOTHER - she was my heart and soul. I asked to speak with the owner and was denied. I was told that nothing like this had ever happened before and theyd see what they could do. I was sent on my merry way without a care, a worry, or concern from them. I was DEVASTATED!! How HEARTLESS, UNSYMPATHETIC, UNPROFESSIONAL, and SELFISH of WATERMARK *********************************************** CONFERENCE CENTER!!! After a few weeks, they sent me a check for maybe a 1/3 of what shed paid them. It WAS AN INSULT! I have refused to accept that and have WAITING/FIGHTING for over 5 YEARS to get this money back. Again, Id only asked for repayment of all monies paid in excess of the deposit. The deposit should have taken care of any of their potential out of pocket expenses. In my heart, I truly believe that they simply side stepped my feelings and spat on the memory of my mother. They should have an ethical, moral and legal duty to do WHATS RIGHT by me and my deceased mother by returning that money. I wish that I could leave them with no (zero) stars. If they correct this issue and right their wrong with full repayment of this money, I will definitely update my review. *************
