I purchased a Jeep Wrangler for my son on July 30, 2022 in the amount of $28,000. The salesman ****** assured me that the truck was good and without any issues. The vehicle was parked for two weeks at our home without being driven at all. Within less than 75 miles, the check engine light came on. I immediately took the vehicle to the dealership, LESS THAN 30 DAYS, to notify of this issue, have them evaluate, and request that they fix the problem. The same salesman that guaranteed the jeep was without issue responded to the complaint by stating since I did not purchase a service contract that they would not repair the vehicle. I was clear in responding that there has got to be something you can do since this is within 30 days and I havent even made a first payment. ****** then repeated that I opted out of the service contract. Next, I took the vehicle to our regular service center to get another opinion. I was advised the repair would cost around $1000. Clearly, ******* was aware that they sold the Jeep with issues. This is our first purchase with ******* and I was unaware that this is how they conducted business. $28000 is a lot to spend for a vehicle that has a major issue (engine light warning) within two weeks and 75 miles of driving. I am requesting that the dealership repair the issue and any other known issues. I have not even made the first payment. Yet, my son is without a car that is insured, parked, and needs immediate repair. If this cannot be done, I am requesting to return the vehicle so that I may purchase a vehicle elsewhere.
