Horrible experience with Dr. Hayes! Took our senior dog with health issues to get his teeth cleaned. (He had seen Wally two days before and we had been pleased. Our issue is not with Dr. Waldrop but the revolving door of vets that have been working there since Dr. Lovelady, who was the absolute best, left). After withholding food and water from the previous night, we dropped our dog off as they asked. When leaving work at 3:00, I called to see if he was ready and told them I would drop by on the way home if he was ready. Dr. Hayes got on the phone and said they had an emergency and couldn't get to our dog but suggested they would go ahead and do the bloodwork. We do not even leave our dog at the groomer long because he gets extremely stressed and not one person could pick up the phone to call us and tell us so we could get him? After telling them it was unacceptable and that I knew from previous work with veterinarians he had been without food and water all day, she could not deny it. (Neither did the person who answered the phone.) After having a heated conversation with them, they gave me my dog and I got all of our pets' records. The receptionist was extremely apologetic and offered to have someone call me, but it is too late. We have been using Summerville Animal Hospital for over 20 years and are extremely disappointed. I can't help but wonder if that is why she wanted to go ahead and run the bloodwork. Needless to say, we will not use them again.
