Hi my name is ****** **** and Im the mayor of a small community in ************ TN. Back on January 29th we purchased a "Used but working" tornado siren after ours quit working from Coastal Electric Supply for $4500.00. We were told that this siren was pulled from service in working condition however the batteries would need to be replaced. So we sent a member of our community 9 hours south to pick this siren up and then they drove another 9 hours back. From there we hung the tornado siren cone however our electrician couldn't wire up the electrical boxes for a few more weeks due to his backlog of work. Once he installed the electrical panels and batteries we let the batteries charge for 24 hours. The batteries ended up not holding a charge so we had to spending another 1200.00 on new gel batteries. We were forwarned that the batteries would need replaced so no big deal. We ordered the batteries and finally was able to get them installed sometime later. Once we had them installed we were ready for the test of the new siren. The siren kicked on and immediately back off. So we worked Federal Signal Technical Support to figure out the issue. The issue ended up being the siren chopper motor. A part called the "Commutator" was chewed up which doesn't happen overnight. It was wore out which is why it most likely taken out of service. So at this point we purchased a faulty siren from this company. So we get a repair quote which ended up coming out to around $1800.00. So sent this repair quote to ***** and ***** (***** is the owner from my understanding) and they gave us the run around for a week telling me ***** was out of the office or he would be in later etc. Finally they got back with us offering us $500.00 "for our troubles". So this company sold us a broken siren and are completely refusing to refund us (we offered to bring the siren back to them) or pay to have the motor replaced. At this point we've gotten our city attorney involved and are being forced to pursue t
