              This event happened on 07/27/2024. My wife and I went to pick up our Volkswagen from McLarty Volkswagen. Upon picking it up, after we paid our bill for what work we had done, we went out to the car to check it over. While looking over the car, we observed a cracked windshield that was cracked two thirds of the way across. When we dropped the car off on 06/21/2024 that crack was not present, the only crack that was on that windshield was a star shaped crack that my salesman Hayden Williams had filled prior to us purchasing the car. The gentleman helping us, Austin took pictures of our Volkswagen when we dropped it off with a tablet. Austin's words to the shop manager were, ''I cannot see any cracks in the pictures.'' One of the issues we brought the car in was that the windshield wiper fluid was leaking onto the floor board. It just so happens that the spray nozzles for the wiper fluid are right there near where the crack originates, the crack just happens to start right where the cowling for the spray nozzles meets the windshield. The shop manager proceeded to tell me it was a rock chip, there is no way that it is a rock chip, where crack starts is under the hood line and windshield wiper arm by almost three inches. I have drove commercially for 12 years, I have seen a lot of cracked windshields, this is not from any kind of road debris. My wife and I are not the kinds people to try to get over on someone for something free, if our windshield was cracked prior to it going to McLarty Volkswagen, we would have either paid them to replace it or not have said anything at all.

              I had a 7:30am appointment at McLarty VW on October 10, 2024. Issue: sensor tells me a light bulb is out. Facts: when I arrive the sensor light was off however it’s been on/off for about a month. I’m worried that some light is out and I really don’t want the police  to stop me. McLarty does a FULL CAR INSPECTION  that took 45 minutes and they tell me that not a single light bulb is out. Matter of fact they confirm the light came on but is now off and I’m good to go. I say thank you. I get in the car, start the car and the sensor light come on. I hop out and give them back my keys and say find the light bulb that’s out. This time within 15 minutes they tell me it’s the passenger rear brake light. Ok! How much? $210 for the light bulb (led) and $80 for labor. THE LED LIGHTBULB COST $210????!!!!!!????? ?? McLarty: Yes ma’am. It’s a led light. It’s attached to the casing and it ALL needs to be replaced. We have to order the parts, that’s why it’s so expensive. Me: sweet Jesus. Well let me come back b/c I wasn’t prepared for a $300 light bulb issue. SO WHAT DID I DO? I googled how to replace a light bulb brake light and went to AutoZone for the bulb. The cost of the ONE bulb is $7.99!!!!!! I decided since I was going to do it, I might as well replace all the bulbs not just the one… I replaced ALL the back bulbs myself with YouTube and AutoZone. The total cost $25.40. Not $290 but $25.40. What’s wrong with McLarty? Why would they tell me the bulb cost $210 when the bulb ONLY cost $7.99? Why would they tell me the whole casing needs to be replaced when it didn’t? Why would they tell me everything needs to be ordered? I have heard of other similar stories about this same dealership.
