We contracted with ****** ***** **** to build our dream home in mid-2017 and moved in about two years later. Thats when our nightmare of an experience began. For almost three years, our house was under a constant state of repair with a rolling list of well over twenty items requiring repair and rework and even today, serious issues remain uncorrected.For example, our travertine stonework in our backyard is very uneven and suffers from significant moisture and discoloration issues. ** will not fix it. The wood on our garage doors is cracked and warping an issue that we raised shortly after we moved in that has only gotten worse over time. ** will not replace it. The wood flooring throughout our home is warped over 50 boards throughout the house. ** points fingers at Old ************* who, in turn, points fingers at **, both refusing to fix.The stone counter tops in our outdoor kitchen cracked twice. ** refuses to replace the second cracked counter tops unless we pay the last $12,000 (.5%) of the purchase price of the house. Over the last few years, we had multiple points of contact at **, finishing with the senior most leadership of the firm. Our interactions grew to be less and less satisfying, so much so that we did not believe we could trust what we were being told nor that the remaining issues would ever be completed with the quality of a custom builder of luxury homes. We also experienced what we felt were a number of disrespectful and condescending comments.After almost three years of mismanagement and ultimately not accepting responsibility, we cut ties with **. Our experience in building our dream home was ruined. We chose to take personal responsibility for the repairs and are undertaking a reconstruction project with a new architect, home builder and interior designer. We made this decision knowing it will cost us substantially more money, but the real satisfaction is that we will have ****** ***** out of our lives.
