We have been waiting 3 years for Solidarity to pay from my husband surgery. We paid some of the bills out of pocket. Other bills have been sent to collections. When I call Solidarity, their representative says that my husband's bills are in a "batch" waiting to be paid. I advise you NOT to join this health share. It has been nothing but a headache for us!!Solidarity Healthshare Response

Hello ******, We are committed to serving you as you were a Sharing Member for (3) years. Health share plans are arrangements where a group of individuals voluntarily come together to share in each other's medical expenses as to where health insurance offers guaranteed coverage for a set premium. When a medical need is completed, waiting to be shared for payment, we do not have an exact timeframe as to when each submitted medical need will match sharing dollars. Upon reviewing your account, (2) medical needs have completed processing, awaiting to match with sharing dollars. Billing details will be sent to you in a personal email. Please note, per our Sharing Guidelines, only Sharing Members with an active Membership will have their Eligible Medical Expenses Shared. However, at this time active Members medical needs are prioritized first, with inactive Members medical needs being in line after that. Once the medical need(s) are shared for payment, you along with your Provider will receive a copy of the *** (Explanation Of Sharing) in the mail. I appreciate your recent outreach and want to provide some clarification. Regarding transparency and not providing an exact timeframe for the release of each batch containing your medical needs, this is because Solidarity HealthShare is a healthcare sharing ministry, medical expenses are shared by Members each month. Due to the varying number and size of each batch, we do not have an exact timeframe. Solidarity HealthShare implements a practice called Distributed Share Balance. Solidarity is NOT insurance, so we do not collect and hold medical reserves in a centralized bank account. Instead, the Monthly Share Amount is set at a level to build a small balance (or reserve) in every Members individual share account. These Distributed Share Balances enable Solidarity HealthShare to better manage the ebb and flow of medical usage and medical needs payments. Once all the allocated funds have been transferred from the Members who were matched to pay your medical bill, those funds are released to be shared. The transfer of funds out of your Virtual Bill ******* will be displayed as a single line-item transaction in your Share *******. In addition, ******************** provides transparency to its Member's by providing access to annual audits upon request. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Sincerely,Solidarity HealthShareReview from Elissa K

No star Terrible experience with this company. We had a medical bill submitted on time, solidarity required additional info ie. Tax ID info and diagnostic codes they show the bill was repriced (processed?). However the bill was still outstanding so when I called to question ***** from Solidarity had me contact UofM billing to inform them that the action was in review and not to send it to collections than all of a sudden I received an EOS requesting accident details (this was never an accident) so it was resubmitted and than denied because of timely filing. Somehow when you call about your original filed medical bill and they gather new info they request and submit the info you provide that they requested it goes thru as a new claim at the current date. I did speak to them again and after much digging found all bills filed for the same date of service were being sent over and would take another 120 days to process. Everything is poorly managed, they are good to take my monthly dues on time but cant get a bill processed or paid on time. Although we have a rule to timely filing to follow they continuously had excuses and extensions on my bills (never)getting paid. I now currently have a law office contacting me to pay the bill or go to court. Because I no longer support solidarity taking my monthly dues I am not getting much feedback from anyone on how to solve this issue - keep in mind before I terminated my relationship with them they informed me that any bills that were outstanding from the previous years (because I still had bills pending pay from 1-2 years prior) they would still continue to work them. I asked why so long and year after year it was the same response we took over a new system to help this work better and its taken longer than planned to get the back log caught up. No matter what DONT join Solidarity Healthshare someone is making good money off our monthly dues and others are getting stuck with long over due bills!Solidarity Healthshare Response

MD would give them a minus 5 stars if that was an option! I have never been taken to collection in my life for anything until I signed up with Solidarity Healthshare, we have been taken to collection for EVERY medical bill we received. I was paying almost a $1000 a month for years, but they never paid any invoice on time. No provider, hospital or physician, would wait two years to get paid, so we ended up in collections for each of our medical bills.Solidarity Healthshare Response

We are still waiting for bills from 2022 to be paid. We left the healthshare because most of our bills were being sent to collections and the promise of bills paid for maternity was not upheld in a timely manner. It was very difficult postpartum as I had to be on the phone with Solidarity for hours rather then solely focusing on my newborn. We are expecting our 4th baby and they still owe over $2,000 in bills to us and providers still. They can not give us any indication of when or if it will get paid. This money would be tremendously helpful to our family of soon to be 6, but they refuse to process our bills out and finish up what they agreed to do.Solidarity Healthshare Response

Hello *******************,
We are committed to serving you as you were a Sharing Member for 2 years. Health share plans are arrangements where a group of individuals voluntarily come together to share in each other's medical expenses as to where **************** offers guaranteed coverage for a set premium. When a medical need is waiting to be shared for payment, we do not have an exact timeframe as to when each submitted medical need will match sharing dollars. There has been an 16-20% medical increase in healthcare cost along with the number of bills submitted by Members and Providers. Due to inflation, healthcare cost have continued to rise. To combat these increases and support efforts to facilitate monthly shares to medical bills, the monthly shares were recently adjusted in the 4th quarter of 2023.
Upon reviewing your account, we currently show 6 medical needs that have completed processing and are waiting there turn to match with incoming sharing dollars. Keep in mind, Per our Sharing Guidelines active Members bills are prioritized with inactive Members bills being in line after that.
Once your medical needs match their turn to share for payment, you along with the Provider will receive a copy of the *** (Explanation of Sharing) in the mail. We appreciate your patience while your medical needs are finalized.
If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Advertised as an alternative to the rising costs of health insurance. I paid 385 for 3 mo.s the 303 for 7 mo.s. I had a routine physical in May 2024 that I was billed ****** at this writing it is August 30th and it has not been paid. I cancelled them in July. After paying for 1 yr. I was informed because Im not an active member I am not a priority anymore to get my bill paid.Review from Cindy M

We were member of Solidarity Healthshare for a few years as an alternative to traditional health insurance while my husband was self-employed. Initially, it seemed like a viable, cost-effective solution, with the added appeal of a community-focused, faith-based approach. However, as time went on, the service declined significantly. Claims processing times became unacceptably long, with many bills rolling over to collections. These are bills that Solidarity Healthshare should have negotiated or paid at least partially. The situation has been further exacerbated by Solidarity's use of another organization, AMPS, to handle these collections issues. Dealing with both parties to try to get anything done or simple questions answered has been a nightmareslow, unresponsive, and ineffective. This has left us in a stressful bind, with accounts I never wanted to see outstanding. If you're considering Solidarity Healthshare, I STRONGLY urge you to keep researching your options. While the concept may be appealing at first glance, the executionparticularly regarding customer service, claims processing, and collectionshas been a disaster. Be fully aware of the potential for significant delays, unresolved bills, and the stress of dealing with collections before you make your decision.Solidarity Healthshare Response

Hi *****,We are committed to serving you as a valued past Member and desire to facilitate sharing your eligible medical bills according to our Solidarity HealthShare Sharing Guidelines. Health share plans are arrangements where a group of individuals voluntarily come together to share in each other's medical expenses as to where **************** offers guaranteed coverage for a set premium. Once a medical need is waiting to be matched with sharing dollars, we do not have an exact timeframe for the release of the batch containing a medical need due to the Member-to-Member sharing program. However, upon reviewing your account, we noticed that your membership ended on December 1, 2023. As a reminder, our Sharing Guidelines specify that only sharing Members with an active membership are eligible to have their eligible medical expenses shared.Currently, our sharing program prioritizes eligible medical needs for active sharing Members. Inactive Members are currently placed in line after active Members medical needs. Your satisfaction is a priority for us. Once your medical need has been finalized, you and your provider will receive an *** (Explanation of Sharing) by mail. For eligible medical expenses above your AUA (Annual Unshared Amount), the *** would be accompanied by a check for reimbursement or sharing.Additionally, it appears that some of your remaining bills have a Member responsibility. This means that there is an amount you owe towards your AUA (Annual Unshared Amount). If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact our *********** team.Blessings,Solidarity HealthShareReview from Meredith W

Run!!!! Do not sign up for this Healthshare, they contractually have not followed through with any of their obligations. Sadly, I am on a FB page "Victims of Solidarity Healthshare". That should say a lot about their company. They claim to be a Christian organization and are full of broken promises. WE had to avoid collections on bills they had for over a year and a half so we have had to pay the minimal amounts to the hospital and still nothing from Solidarity Healthshare, we have had to terminate because we paid into their services for over a year and they didn't pay our bills. They will never end up paying....one of my biggest regrets is signing up with Solidarity Healthshare, when I did they had decent reviews, since my bills went unpaid they reviews plummeted as well! I feel fortunate that I am not the victims that are over $100,000 in debt because they haven't paid. Now I'm thinking this is a ****** learned..Review from Diane R

Solidarity Health Share is HORRIBLE!! As I read the other reviews, i can ditto them all. The stories are the same as mine. Solidarity takes your monthly dues, but does not pay your bills. Yes, I've been down the same road many times with their famous 3 way calling to the providers, but to no avail. Yes, I've been sent to collections. And yes, i have to pay my own bills to prevent further collections. Yes, my deductible (unshared amount, as they call it) has been met, but that's as fat as they will process any of my bills. I pay my monthly *********** deductible, then they ignore me. They are getting rich while they steal from us. Very dishonest, greedy operation! How grossly sad they use a Religious theme to drawer good people in!Review from Laurie J

They have not paid hospital bills of my sons for over a year. My bills have been sent to collections agencies. I have made multiple phone calls to them. They never give a definitive answer or timeline when they will be paid.Review from Liz C
