We are qualified intermediaries who facilitate 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges, nationwide. 1031 exchanges stem from the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 1031, which outlines how real estate investors can defer paying capital gains tax on the sale of their investment property as long as they reinvest those proceeds into another "like-kind" property that is of equal or greater value.
Our responsibilities to the client include clear documentation on all properties pertaining to the 1031 exchange, direct communication with client and those involved in such transactions (i.e. escrow companies, accountants, attorneys), securely holding funds from sale transaction in segregated FDIC insured bank accounts, educate and inform client throughout entire transaction to make sure all requirements and necessary timelines are met.
