I reluctantly agreed with my home warranty service to use AV Hawaiian (again) on their recommendation to repair a leaking element in the pool system. AV Hawaiian technician told me on the phone that he replaced a check valve. Upon inspecting the work - no check valves were replaced and all original equipment is still intact, and still leaks. I have photos of the original equipment in place and no evidence that any of these were opened up, removed, or otherwise repaired upon. Old plastic would show new tool marks. Two calls have been made to AV Hawaiian (answering machine) and no call back. Very unprofessional. I would expect that AV Hawaiian and myself (homeowner) could come to an agreement that maybe there is a proper troubleshooting process of elimination to inspect, and repair until a solution is found. At least three diverter valves are in the supply line and maybe one of those needs a repair kit.

AV Hawaiian was assigned a work order through the home warranty Fidelity National to come out and assess an issue the homeowner had at their property. They have an inground pool and spa combo, spa is elevated higher than the water of the pool which requires inline plumbing check valves to hold the spa water level up when pump is not pumping and circulating water through the system. In May 2023 AV HAWAIIAN got the first call about the elevated spa, at times not consistent of every night syphoning down, so AV HAWAIIAN took apart the 1.5" ****** check valve. AV HAWAIIAN found no broken parts of that return valve check valve however did find that the rubber gasket on the check valve was worn potentially causing randomly the water not to hold up in the elevated spa/. AV HAWAIIAN replaced that 1.5" ****** check valve puck. Roughly about 1 month later, the homeowner called their home warranty company Fidelity National stating that randomly, not consistently, the elevated spa will syphon down to the pool. At this point AV HAWAIIAN came back out and concluded that on this pool/spa equipment this equipment has an electronic control management system. This system was manufactured in the late 80's/early 90's controlled through a controlled managed remote system (AKA circuit boards). At this point in time, with the information the homeowner has claimed that the water level in elevated spa syphoning down is not consistent night to night / day to day... it is not an issue with a check valve. It is an issue with the electronic old anaoquated circuit board system. Homeowner in his complaint, stated that he could not see tool marks on check valves indicating where AV HAWAIIAN replaced the 1.5" ****** check valve puck. That makes sense because that valve is a hand tight / s**** off cap not needing tools to open the check valve. The home warranty company Fidelity National does not cover electronic control management systems. The home warranty company denied AV HAWAIIAN to upgrade the homeowners 30+ old remote system and now the homeowner is upset with AV HAWAIIAN. Thank you!
