UNPROFESSIONAL the whole company is!!! They will 100% scam you out of your security deposit!!! I have been forced to get a lawyer and go to court over the incompetence of the absent property manager *************************** and her LESS than professional boss *************************! Both should be fired immediately for not doing their job correctly!!! We were FORCED to move out because the neighbors were smoking cigarettes all day and night inside their home which was supposed to be a smoke free community and Im a severe asthmatic who was hospitalized twice living there for only 7 months!! The property manager did not care and I was told they had a different lease than I did!!! WE had to move because someone else was breaching the lease!!!! How can you enforce different rules on different apartments in the same building?? We lost thousands of dollars in deposit, moving truck, boxes and time off work because we were lied to by ***** who told us it was a smoke free community. We left the apartment in better shape than when we moved in!! We were quite tenets who kept to ourselves and followed the rules!! When we moved out they charged us thousands for damages to the building that someone else did because they were retaliating against us for moving out due to health issues!!! We gave them AMPLE physical proof and still they were lying about everything! No police report was filed no proof was given!! The manager FAILED to do her job and to cover her tail she lied!!! Lawyers have been called and we are now going to court with several statements from neighbors, documents, emails , pictures and receipts! Falsely accusing innocent people is HORRIBLE business!!!!!! I hope those two get fired for their incompetence!!! Its disgraceful!!If you need further proof not to move in just read how they respond to people they scam and how defensive they are about their actions!!!! They have also been to court MANY times look it up its public knowledge!!!

      Torrey Pines Property Management Response

      02/29/2024

This unfortunate review is an attempt to persuade the property owner from **************** for physical damages to their property caused by the reviewer which was reported by numerous fellow residents at the property. Sadly, our valued employees are being verbally attacked by this reviewer for doing their job professionally and accurately. This reviewer has been given the opportunity for a payment plan which the reviewer has declined.

      Torrey Pines Property Management Response

      03/04/2024

In our 40-year history, TPPM has never experienced the likes of *****************************. That said, this important response is more of a caution to those who may encounter her. ******* and her co-tenant rented a **Haul truck when moving from their apartment, a property they rented from TPPM. During their move the **Haul truck backed into the building in front of the garage, which they also rented from TPPM, causing significant damage to the building in the amount of $2,180. The impact was so great that it startled a resident who witnessed ******** co-tenant driving the **Haul truck that caused this damage. The community manager was alerted and came out to assess and photograph the damage. During this time, the community manager also photographed and documented the co-tenant who immediately returned to clean-up the stucco and building material that fell to the ground. Upon being presented the cost of the damage, ******* denied renting the **Haul truck on the day the damage occurred. As always, we prefer to do what we can for our residents, such as honoring *******'s request for early termination of her lease as an example. Continuing with that philosophy and way of doing business, we also offered ******* and her co-tenant a payment plan to cover the damage to the building. ******* refused, and in an attempt to coerce TPPM to drop the matter, ******* went on a viral rampage posting untrue statements about our company and employees. TPPM then filed a damage claim with **Haul. A few days later, TPPM was contacted by the **Haul adjuster who confirmed that ******* did in fact rent the **Haul truck on the day the damage occurred. The **Haul adjuster went on to say that several calls made to ******* and her co-tenant went unanswered and messages were never returned. Clearly, avoiding the consequences of the damage they caused. The unfortunate part is, if ******* and her co-tenant were forthright from the beginning and immediately notified ******* **Haul would have assisted them with the claim and the cost of damages may have been covered. But, given the character of *****************************, displaying deceit in this entire scenario, left her owing TPPM the cost of damages. ******** review is a poor effort to slander TPPM from her own undoing. It is also important to note that when it comes to landlord-tenant relations, no matter the landlord, the court system is part and parcel to operating in the rental property industry. The civil code is clear. Torrey Pines Property Management takes the civil code and our residents expectation of a quality and neighborly living environment very seriously having accommodated over ******* customers in our 40-year history.
