November 2021, My water heater would not light. The ** gas Company looked at the water heater and stated it was the thermocouple that needs to be replaced. I called and two Technicians that looked at my water heater stated that I needed a new burner unit $100-200 or a new tank water heater. I used this company in the past and trusted them but it seems that things have changed for the worse, read on- the two Technicians again said, the water heater needed a burner unit part which would take a long time to get in due to supply chain shortages. A new water tank could be done quicker but at $5000. I opted for the part to be ordered because it was less expensive. After waiting several months, I was tired of not having hot water and called another company. They replaced the thermocouple and found a gas flow restricter that had fallen on the ground and put it back into the gas tube which regulates the flow of gas. I was told that burner assembly appeared fine, that they always look *****. I had hot water in a few hours and everything seems fine now. It appears that either this company does not know what they are doing or they are trying to make a quick buck-off unsuspecting consumers. They did a few dramatic dangerous things like trying to light the water heater without the gas flow reducer. This caused flames to shoot out from the water heater and said, yep you need a new water heater. This could have caused a dangerous house fire.Interesting, they should have known that the gas cone reducer part was missing, the other company new immediately and found the missing part on the ground in front of the heater, installed it. The water heater works fine without a problem.A second opinion saved me allot of money and taught me not to trust this company any longer. I have not received a **** to date so no money is currently lost for BBB to resolve. I only want consumers to be aware that second opinions matter these days.
