About 6-8 weeks ago I unsubscribed from all of the Slickdeals threads. I continue to receive the Hot Deals email about 2 days a week. Clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email always results in a 404 page error. I have reached out to Slickdeals through their contact form 3 times in the last 2 months with no response. I've replied to the Hot Deals email 3 times requesting to be removed and have also received no response. When I login to my account, all preferences are unchecked so I'm unsure why I continue to receive these emails. Slickdeals is unresponsive and their unsubscribe links don't work. I'm at my wits end. If this doesn't work, I'll be complaining to the FTC

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/07) */ We looked up the user's Slickdeals account based on the email provided in this complaint and confirmed that Slickdeals emails have been turned off since September 15, 2022. If there is another email address we should check, please let us know. Our email platform also does not show their email address on any of our active lists. The Slickdeals support team replied to the complainant's inquiries, and we have a record of those communications, so possibly they were marked as spam in their inbox. We hope this resolves the matter.

Slick Deals had an offer for a $100 ****** gift card if you answer their surveys. They end up requiring more and more sign ups for memberships *********. They keep saying you are almost done but it seems you can never reach the goal. Then they change the goal post and say it is an ****** gift card. I want to receive the $100 ****** gift card in the mail.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/17) */ We've investigated this matter but require more information from the complainant to resolve. Slickdeals has not offered a $100 ****** gift card for answering a survey(s). We're unsure what the complainant clicked on the Slickdeals website to trigger this experience. It possibly could be from a third-party display advertisement that is not controlled by Slickdeals. If the complainant can provide more information for how they came upon this survey, then we're happy to investigate further.

The company known as Slickdeals (************) advertises on google.com discount for companies to get them more sales. However Slickdeals is EXTREMELY bad about advertising deals with low prices for **********. However, when you click on the link saying "view Deal" the price is EXTREMELY no where near the price Slickdeals says it is therefor False Advertising. As just one of MANY examples here's a link to a product on ********** Slickdeals just sent me. ************************************************************************* and yet another ***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

      Business response

      11/21/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/18) */ We appreciate this matter being raised to our attention. Slickdeals is a crowdsourced platform for finding, rating, discussing, and sharing deals on third-party products. We're supported in part by commissions when shoppers go from our website to a merchant's website and make a purchase, but we do not control the terms or the duration of any posted offer. Some offers are only available for a very short time. In addition, because our service allows users to post deals freely, they will occasionally post deals that have already expired. Short-term deals (and even expired deals) may sometimes be included in the emails (called "deal alerts") that Slickdeals sends to users at their request. This usually happens when a user has chosen to receive a deal alert on a slower schedule than the duration of the offer. When users sign up for deal alerts, they specify how often to receive them: instantly or once per day. The deal alert system is very straightforward - if there is a newly posted deal for the user's chosen merchant or product, the deal alert email will include it. If a user has chosen to receive alerts only once per day and a particular offer expires very quickly, it's possible that the email will include deals that are no longer available by the time the email is received. We regret that this user did not have a good experience, but we believe our user community generally understands this well. Each deal alert includes this explanation: "Please note that deals are subject to availability and its prices are subject to change." We also communicate it to our users in areas of the site such as the Slickdeals Terms of Service (available in full at https://slickdeals.net/content/list/slickdeals-terms-of-service/). For these reasons, users rarely send complaints like this to Slickdeals. We hope that this fully satisfies this inquiry but are available to provide additional information if needed. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/10/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) ************** needs to still pay attention to what they post and not use the 'Bait and Switch' tatic of getting people such as myself from clicking on deals they post that were already expired just to generate revenue intentionally and purposely mislead site visitors as they knowingly do. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/11/04) */ As is the nature of many crowdsourced platforms on the internet, Slickdeals does not proactively review every post by our community. We rely on the community to inform us when they notice that a deal is expired or inaccurate and our community team does its best to respond to those actions. Slickdeals does not purposely mislead site visitors. We inform shoppers on the website and mobile app that we're supported in part by commissions when shoppers go from our website to a merchant's website and make a purchase. The Slickdeals Terms of Service also communicates how our business works and things shoppers should be aware of.

The first issue arose when I completed an************* deal, but it was credited to level 3 not 4. I thought maybe it was a mistake on my part so I move on to other deals. I've met the reqirements to complete level 4, yet some are still pending and one didnt even show up even though I followed their link to sign up. Ive resorted to taking screenshots of whatever deal with the level its attached to showing on the background so they can't lie. They're also very slow to respond, which to me, feels like an attempt to prevent me from earning the *** payout. Deals take up to 14 days to show. You have 60 days from the date of your first completed deal to finish everything otherwise you reward expires and you'll need to start over. Slow responses and a time limit like this will absolutely ruin your chances of getting a payout. Even if it takes days to verify, at the very least, when you follow a link and start the process it should show up on the "in progress" section within the day if not minutes just so its on record.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/06) */ We appreciate the complainant raising this matter; however, we need more information to be able to address this. The Slickdeals team does not have a record of any interactions with the complainant. We also suspect that this complaint may be for a business other than Slickdeals ************************* since we do not credit deals to specific levels, offer compensation for deal posting, and deals posted by our community appear on the site immediately and do not have a 2-week delay.

I never signed up for Slickdeals, and now I keep getting emails from them. I'm not going to click any links on emails from people/companies I don't know, especially ones I didn't sign up for. I don't know how you got my email, but I demand you remove it for your email list, or I'm going to keep reporting them to CISA.

      Business response

      09/23/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/01) */ We're sorry to hear the user received emails from Slickdeals that were unwelcome. It appears that the complainant unsubscribed their email address on 8/28/22. First, users can be rest assured that if they click on the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email from Slickdeals the system will unsubscribe them. Second, based on the way the complainant described their experience, it sounds like they may be opted into emails from a Slickdeals marketing partner. The complainant should use the following web page to unsubscribe from emails from the Slickdeals' marketing partner: ******************************** Some individuals have multiple email addresses. If the complainant needs us to investigate an email address different from the one associated with this complaint, then they can contact the support team at ********************** We appreciate the user letting us know about the unwelcome emails that they successfully stopped via the unsubscribe link.

I have no idea what this company is but I've been randomly getting an email saying "welcome to slick deals!" I unsubscribe but then I just get an email in another of my emails. I'd say it's a coincidence, but it literally happens seconds after I unsubscribe. I don't know where this company got their information or where they got my information but I just want it to stop.

      08/10/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/22) */ We investigated activity related to the complainant's email address. If they have other email addresses that they need us to investigate, please let us know. It appears the complainant visited a page on the Slickdeals web site on July 13. Their email address was on file with one of Slickdeals' marketing partners and Slickdeals sent an email. The complainant successfully unsubscribed. However, the complainant appears to have visited or reloaded a page on the Slickdeals website faster than the unsubscribe systems could all connect and that appears to have triggered a subsequent email before all the systems could catch up and fully unsubscribe. Another possibility is that the complainant received an email from Slickdeals to an alternative email address that we did not include as part of this investigation. We have gone into our systems and verified that they are unsubscribed and notified our partner to remove their email from their database. We are sorry the complainant had a negative experience with the Slickdeals shopping community. Thanks for notifying us about the issue.

Slickdeals advertises reward points from affiliate referral when purchasing from their partners. They use a browser app to track the purchase, which shows a cashback activated popup when the order is made. I used their services to place an order at HP.com on 5/23 (see attached receipt, order delivered status, and screenshot of the app activation). I initiated contact with the company on 6/2 after not receiving the promised reward. They stonewalled me every step of the way for over a month. Please see attached email record. I've exhausted all options with them and am forced to file false advertising against the company for not crediting the reward promised in their app.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/15) */ The Slickdeals customer support team has been in contact with the complainant since the beginning of June. We did not have a record of the complainant's transaction and needed to get supporting documentation from them and verify it with the merchant. While we are still waiting for the merchant to confirm this transaction, we decided in good faith to credit the user for this purchase and are issuing payment this week.

I utilized the Slickdeals website at https://coupons.slickdeals.net/ on 3/17/22. I selected a Subway Sandwiches coupon discount listing a 6 inch sub sandwich for $3.49. I clicked on the required button on the site and was transferred to the Subway site to order. Once my order was complete, the review of my order showed the total to be $3.49 after the ************ discount. After completing my purchase, I received my sandwich. Yesterday I noticed my credit card was charged $8.69 (which I would assume is even MORE than a non-discounted 6 inch Subway sandwich costs). I'm quite unhappy to have been charged more than promised (and shown on the review screen). I request that Slickdeals reimburse me the $5 overcharge and in the future pay better attention to making sure these things don't happen (it seems to be a pattern according to the reviews).

      Business response

      06/30/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/26) */ We're sorry to hear about the experience the complainant had with Subway. While Slickdeals is a place for shoppers to find coupons to use on retailer's websites, we do not control the transactions between shoppers and the businesses they are purchasing from. In this case, it sounds like Subway confirmed the discount when the complainant placed their order, but Subway did not honor that discount when they processed payment. We recommend that the complainant reach out to Subway or their credit card company to resolve this matter and get a refund.
