I worked my first event with Ascent back in early 2013, and worked quite a few events with them. I had an experience in 2015 where I found out while working for them on-site that I had been discriminated against. I was the only female on the event, and the two guys from the agency who had the same duties as me were getting paid $5/hr more. So I called them out on it. Ever since then, I havent gotten booked for one event. Not one single event in over 8 years. Ive applied for at least 200 of them. I continue to receive email blasts, which lately has been almost every single day. And I continue to apply for events that I never get booked for. Ive become beyond sick of it. So I finally emailed the owner, *********************** None of you ever book me for anything still after 8 years regardless if the activation is literally 4 miles from my house or even if youre looking for someone at the last minute. So I dont know why you continue to email me. Just get it over with and deactivate my account already. He responds, Im not sure of the circumstances why Ascent wasnt able to get you on previous projects, but if you want us to deactivate your account, please let me know and Ill take care of it for you. Is that what you would like me to do? I said, Well *****, you are the owner of the company. You should be able to tell me why Ive applied for at least 200 events in the last 8 years and Ive gotten booked for not one of them, when prior to that I got booked for at least 1 out of every 5 events I applied for. And if not, then still, you can change all that. But if you dont want to and youre just going to continue to allow me to be emailed almost every day for events that Ill never get booked for because you choose to leave things the way they are, then yes, I want you to deactivate my account. So, he deactivated my account It just goes to show that they dont care about their staff and the issues theyre having and they refuse to resolve them.
