I recently purchased a car from Auto Resources Inc. I purchased it on 8/5/2022. Within a month the check engine light has come on and the window fell into the door. I have contacted them over 10 times to fix this issue and they keep saying they will call back and don't. They call for a payment, but my car needs the repair as it shows a cylinder 3 misfire, head gasket leak, needed transmission fluid and other problems. Contacted them with a quote and they denied it, said only $250 and now will not even call back. This company is using unethical business practices, selling cars (look at yelp, BBB and other review sites) that are having mechanical issues, won't return customer's calls, poor customer service, and within the 30 days of the minimum a dealership has as a warranty for issues they do not honor it at all. They rush you on signing the contracts and tell you false information. They charge double KBB prices for their vehicles. This company should not exist. They lie, steal customer's money and use unethical business practices by selling vehicles that have tons of problems. They also did not allow me to test drive the vehicle but only drive from one lot down 2 stop lights and into another lot. They took advantage of my situation and sold me a lemon car and refuse to correct the issue. Please help.

So on June 4th 2022 we had put a deposit of $6000 towards a 2014 Honda Accord which they were selling for $18999 that has 114k miles. We had noticed there was visible dents and scratches so we told our sales rep. He told us that he'll get a discount for the vehicle so we agreed on the price of 16k we were rushed to sign all documents so we couldn't read it. By the time we got home the next day we decided to read the contract they never included that discount price and is still charging us for that $18999 price plus taxes and fees that equal to 21k we asked to return the vehicle we didn't mind paying a fee for restocking but once we contacted our sales rep he said we didn't purchase that option which was never brought to our attention or even knew that was an option till we read the contract. So all I'm asking is that they honor their discount price of 16k for the vehicle or give us a full refund

Back in October 2021 I went to Auto Resources looking for a car because i needed one asap, they took me to 4 different locations to seek cars because each dealer did not have what i was looking and finally the auto resources on Yosemite **** helped me and told me all he had for me was 2 options a KIA OPTIMA and a HYUNDAI ELANTRA i did not go there to get any of those cars beause of the stories i heard about those cars being "not reliable" but again **** said i only had those two options for being a first time buyer and not having the best credit , purchased the car because i was in need of a car he stated i could trade in the car in 6-7 months. 5 months later my car is now broken down catalyst converter i had to pay out of pocket $2,500 to get that fixed I did let **** at Auto resources know about all the other issues ive been having , i told him about why i needed a car knowing i was on a financial bind and a single parent they screwed me over, now im having to pay out of pocket expenses to keep this damn car alive that i do not have and stuck with a lease for a piece of crap car that is breaking down on me little by little, they masked the car enough time to screw me over and give them time to clear themselves to be covered, this is not fair and i want this fixed !

I am rejecting this response because:

they lied about the cars condition, first car they pretty much made me get (KIA ****** 2015) had a bad catalyst converter that clogged at the fifth month, light fixture inside was broken, bumper was falling off, lic plates were only valid for another 3 months after purchase, they pretty much sold me a defective car, which I had to suffer over not being able to take my daughter to school and being able to be with her for 2 weeks meanwhile a family member took care of her and I couldnt go to work, lost my job because I didnt have a car to get there and it was about an hour away from home. I kept telling auto resources Manager to take this car back and give me the car I came for, they knew that had one in stock but had me search through there website KNOWING the stressful situation they put me in and STILL asked for a deposit for the trade in, they only traded the car because I told them I had a lawyer that was going to help me and making a scene letting there customers know they were a fraud.

The whole process was a nightmare and I regret ever giving Auto Resources my business.

I purchased a vehicle from a dealership in Merced California. I was unaware of all of the mechanical issues. I then told him I needed help because there’s a lot of things messed up with the vehicle and they intern said they will do what they can. I had found that the oil dipstick was missing completely the exhaust pipes were not hooked up and the engine after three weeks of driving it blew the head gasket. I was then told that I was drag racing it and they found traces of rubber underneath the fender wells and I’ll kinds of other weird stories that I was amazed at. I was been told I have to pay 1500 bucks to fix the head gasket which will cost $3000. I waited over two months I got the vehicle back with a different driver window a different amp and speakers inside the cab of the truck a very bad oil leak and a loud tick from the engine. I had started to inspect the overall vehicle and found there were small sediments inside the antifreeze to show that they put a head gasket sealer in there instead of taking the engine apart and fixing it properly . I didn’t noticed that it was running very badly and I had the entire engine overhauled and looked at and had a tuneup done on it plus change the oil and everything at the dealership and had a look at completely over. I am very unhappy with everything going on because I had told them I want the warranty people to take the truck back and check out why it’s taking and they have yet to tell me if there’s any warranty worked on it or anything . I am very dissatisfied also because I keep getting the runaround and now they are refusing to help me completely decided to tell me I can handle it all on my own. I have yet to hear back from them now and I am seeking legal action against them because I want to start a lawsuit against them

I cosigned for a truck in May of last year with my son. We have had the truck since that time, he has made every payment timely. We made referrals to them and our daughter also bought a truck there and our other son a got a car, they told us at the time of our purchase that we would receive $100 per referral for both the referred individuals and ourselves. We have never received any such amount from them. We have not heard a single word, written, texted or phone call, from them until yesterday. At that time I received a final notice with threat of collections for $341. We have a standard contract for the purchase with Capitol One being the lender. We paid $3000.00 down payment cash. we accepted the loan for total payment of $36,3333.14 for the truck, they also accepted this as the final amount for the truck including all DMV fees and licensing fees at that time. Now nearly a year later they have sent this letter demanding an additional $341 for supposed increase DMV fees. At the time of purchase the dealer being asked by my son assured him that they would take care of all the fees as per the contract at no additional cost to him. We called them in attempt to resolve this error, they insist that because it was only an estimation we owe them any and all supposed increase that they may have paid for DMV fees. Even when we asked why they had never contacted us prior to this letter, they only claimed that there are new staff in the office. My son is an exceptionally nice person and sent them a payment towards the $341. I do not believe he owes them anything, that it is something that they are responsible for as they accepted the final amount just as we did as the time of purchase. That there has been a long period of time since that purchase took place that they should have contacted us before IF that was the case as they paid DMV within 30 days of the purchase, they failed to even do that. I understand that they recently have new ownership, this does excuse this issue

I am sorry you feel this way . We are always seeking to obtain 100% customer satisfaction. Regarding the $100 referral we always give to the customer upon complication of purchase. The Dmv fees are estimated fees at the time of purchase, so there is always a possibility that we may have a balance due .Please send me your information to ************@mercedautoresources.com. I will do the follow up on any possible mistake and late fee. Thanks

I bought my car at Auto Resources in April if 2020. Initially I gave a down payment and signed a contract and then was asked days after my purchase to provide more money for the down payment. I finance through a 3rd party credit union so I was fine with giving them the money they requested so I could finally be done with them and all of their unprofessionalism. I gave them the entire amount requested and listed on the contract. I received my tags and license from them I think 4 months later, after multiple calls asking for them and them not having any ETA. But I was happy knowing that I just had to focus on paying my car payments to the local credit union because they were very helpful. Now, fast forward to today November 19th, 2021. I’m looking at my phone and I receive two notifications. One for a purchase of $60 from auto resources and another for a declined purchase of over $200. Then I receive a voicemail from them stating to call them back because I owe them money for my car I purchased over a year ago. I call them back and ask to speak to a manager but they say none are available, when I ask what the purchase is for they say only the manager and finance know and neither are in. I believe this dealership just try’s to scam the innocent merced demographic. I’ve worked at multiple dealerships and I have to say I’ve never heard of anyone charging a customer over a year later for something. Especially before even contacting them to let them know what they are trying to charge them for. I owe them no money. At this point I feel like they owe me for everything. I also almost forgot to mention that I traded in a car when I made my new purchase and they didn’t pay it off for almost a month. I had debt collectors calling me because I was weeks past due, I had threats to impound the vehicle I didn’t even have anymore and my credit dropped drastically. Justice needs to be served, this company has 3 dealerships in Merced.
