Searching for a reputable & convenient eye Dr. * and surrounded by at least 6 opthamologists within a convenient 5 mile radius I made the regrettable decision to trust the tanyani institute * ( 21 mile drive ) for removal of my cataracts. I am 74 * on ******** * and they informed me my costs would be ****** and balance by ******** . I assumed this is where the surgery will take place . Following the exam * I met the DR. in charge of my surgery and he gave me the happiest news I"ve ever received in the past 20 years . Because my lens would have to be replaced for the cataract surgery * i would receive free Lasik vision correction surgery at absolutely no extra cost . a lifetime dream coming true. He informed me I would never have to wear glasses again * my stigmatism to light would be corrected and no more blinding stars at night . He also mentioned that I MIGHT BE scheduled at their ************ office for surgery * another 38 miles away . 2 weeks prior to the surgery * I receive a call from their booking agent alerting me to ******** per eye additional cost if I wanted the Lasik surgery with the toric lense. * and Dr.******* will perform the surgery . and regretfully the surgery will be performed in ************ * about 60 miles from my home with ***** costs exceeding ****** . Expecting to pay the ****** I was handed 2 bills totaling ****** I asked a nurse how many surgeries are performed in the San ************* and he replied NONE ! . Surgery was 1 week ago * vision is more clear & bright * but now I need more vision correction than before the surgery *because my perfect close vision is now blurry . I hope you read this and think twice.
