I love this place and have camped here with my children and now they camp here with their children and soon we hope those children will be bringing their yet-to-be-conceived children to camp with them. (4 generations) Unfortunately, one bad experience is making us wonder if we should consider alternative arrangements. Today my husband went to check out the location of the campsite my daughter will be bringing her family to at the end of the month for their annual camping trip. (We now have retired and live in the area) My husband asked if he could drive in to see the aforementioned campsite as my daughter wanted to be sure there were showers within walking distance and that it would be able to accommodate her family and their friends. He was told no they didn't allow people in without reservations. OK, he then asked if it would be possible to pay the day use fee so he could drive by the campsite again just to check out restroom accommodations. Again, told no without a reservation. So he asked if he could buy a map to show her where it was and was told no they were running low. All this was said in a very harsh tone and with no empathy or effort to accommodate a customer. There was a "matter of fact, get lost!" attitude. When I told my daughter she called the campground to inquire about the lack of customer service and was told "I spoke to your parents and wasn't rude, they are lying!" Seriously, that's what you tell your customers that have been doing business at this campground for over thirty years?!?! They are liars? This is so unacceptable. Hope this is a one-off and ****** learns to handle clients in a more pleasing fashion.
