I have had a yahoo email address for 20+ years. Tonight was told something unusual about your sign in or recent activity. Yahoo will only send a verification code to a email address at an early internet company that no longer exists. The only way to get assistance is to pay for a monthly service! I am now locked out of multiple paid services that were linked to this email address.

I've been unable to log into my email for the past week on AOL because of a new two factor authentication process. They failed to inform any AOL customers prior to this change and therefore have locked thousands of people out of their email with no help to access the email. Due to the fact that they didn't inform their customers of this new process, many people did not have time to update their secondary emails, phones, etc. I just want to be able to access my email. I have entered the correct password but can not go any farther. I want a representative of AOL to allow me to have access to my personal email with my personal information, doctors appointments, my child's school information and legal and medical documents. This is illegal to not allow people to have access to their information. Thank you.

On Oct *******, I was locked out of my *** email account and have yet so regain access as of today 10/31/24. Email, messages on social media platforms and phone calls are useless. I got through to a *** on Friday 10/25 after a 3 hour wait. Was told I could not be verified. I have had this account since dial up! My recovery phone number was a land line that I no longer have. On their ******** customer care page people are saying that they are scanning government issued ids and marriage certificates to obtain access! This seems very shady. All I want is to be able to get back into my emails again as it is the one I have for all medical and government correspondence.

I have filed a complaint (extortion) against YAHOO this morning with my main now locked email address: *************** I have been a paying customer for 25+ years and have had no issues with the account until 10 days ago. I currently pay $30.99 per month and cannot get access to the account. I am concerned that the account was hacked as the recovery numbers are ones that I do not recognize and are Whats App numbers suddenly. As the account has been hacked, I cannot use recovery options as they changed the numbers. I have tried the customer service line and it disconnects. I have left a message at Yahoo / ******** Corporate headquarters multiple times with no response. I cannot access account in any way. The paid customer service line offered no assistance either as there was no answer. If this cannot be resolved, I need a legal way to cancel the 25+ years paid account. I cannot believe that I pay $372 per year and have zero options available to 1) report a hacked account (the article online that addresses only covers options that are available if LOGGED IN to your *** account and the hacker has locked me out) 2) change my contact info back to my correct info 3) restore my password and 4) cancel my account (have to be logged in to cancel, my attorney advises that this is illegal as Im not getting services and it is considered illegal to collect payment in these circumstances with no option available to cancel. I respectfully request that ***/Yahoo reach out to me at the email address I have provided to provide an alternative means of canceling the service (as I cannot regain access to my account). Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter as I hope it can be resolved ASAP

I have had an AOL mail account for almost 25 years. On 10/24/24 I was not able to receive any emails from my AOL account. I thought this might have just been a network error but after several days I still could not get my emails from my AOL account. I googled the issue and found that many people were experiencing the same issue. AOL had a "help" page that instructed people that there was an issue with the multifactor log in and that you should be able to update your password and get back into your account. There are two problems with this. 1. I never signed up for multifactor log in and 2. my account verification options were so old I no longer have access to them. My entire life is tied to this account. I have called AOL multiple times and either got a message to call back later with a hang up or have waited on hold for over an hour. The one time that I was able to get through to a representative they said they were not able to verify my account and therefore I had no options for recovery. When I pressed on how this is not okay and that this issue was not my fault, they said I could keep trying to call back and let the system "rest" to try to verify my account again. This just does not seem right to me. AOL can see my account but cannot unlock it for me? How in this world would I be expected to know that I had to go into my account every and update my verification methods? Every other account I have allows you to choose a method of verification. I didn't forget my password and I didn't cause the AOL error, so how I am being penalized? At one point I said I should just forget it and make a new account but every account I have for other things I use every day are linked to this account and I cannot update the email address without verifying the change through my AOL account. Please help me.
