SOS Site Services Response
01/29/2024
It is accurate that this employee was hired and worked for SOS Site Services for 2 weeks beginning 1/8/24 and ending 1/22/24. The "70 year woman" is not a disaster, but rather a seasoned Administrator who was expecting to train a new Office Administrator who, ultimately misrepresented her skill set on at least two separate occasions during both her 1st and 2nd interviews. She stated that she was proficient in ********* Excel, but after a week+ of training with our current Administrator, it became evident that this was not the case. When asked to put in a simple addition formula, she put "4+2" into a cell and didn't understand why it still said "4+2". She was also unable to hide/ unhide columns or add filters. These are all very basic functions of Excel. At the end of her 2nd week, our current Administrator told her that she was going to recommend to management (*********************) that she take a basic level Excel class followed by an advanced level Excel class. The following Monday, she came into work, worked from 8:00am-9:15am, and then abruptly walked out without any communication to management. She simply left a timesheet on her desk that reflected the **** hours of work, and then wrote "Resigned" on the timesheet.
The statement of receiving her 1st paycheck on 1/19/24 is also accurate. However, as I told her several times via text message, SOS Site Services has no control over the processing and release of funds from any other banks than the ones that we do business with. On Tuesday, 1/22/24, I was contacted by her in regard to the hold and told her the same thing. Also on Tuesday, 1/22/24, the check in question did clear our bank, and funds were withdrawn from our account. The screenshot of this check was then sent to her. Beyond these steps, I don't know what we were expected to do. As for her paycheck on 1/26/24; she received it, and it was cashed by her at our bank. From the prospective of a small business owner, this woman is just being vengeful because she was called out on her clear misrepresentation of qualifications during the hiring process.
I would be happy to discuss this further with anyone who may have questions.
