Very cheap furniture what they deliver is not what they show you in the store. I bought a desk and a desk chair based on what I saw in the store. when the desk arrived it would not even stand up and the drawers would not open. The desk chair In the store had a wood bottom and the one they delivered had a plastic bottom. I refuse the merchandise and disputed my credit card and they told capital one that they delivered what they were supposed to deliver and I was charged $1000 cancellation feeEthan Allen Global, Inc. August 19th 2024 In response to the complaint about an Ethan Allen product quality, cancelation policy and refund processed. Ethan Allen offers the vast variety of custom options; our products are custom made for each individual client order and final sale. No returns or refunds on those items. If there is concern on delivery day or warranty related concern thereafter, the policy is we will correct, if not correctable, it would be replaced. Things that are naturally occurring (like wood expansion and contraction) are not covered under warranty, so a drawer that might be tough to open, will acclimate. Our service team would always review any concern reported and we’ll find resolution even if there is no defect. When client is unwilling/unable to accept delivery, the order will be canceled, and deposit held back to restocking. This is printed in the terms & conditions, contract signed when the order is placed. This order was refused on delivery day due to preference and a drawer that was difficult to open. There was no defect found with the ordered items that were refused. We never want a client to be unhappy with their order. This order can be reinstated and scheduled for delivery to avoid the restocking charge if the client would like. At that time, the 30 % would be applied back to the order and delivery scheduling would collect the balance for any amounts due for the furniture order to schedule it for delivery. It takes months for delivery and order is incorrect. The color of the fabric did not match after they came into my home to match it. They suck. And the salesperson is a liar. Will not shop there ever againEthan Allen Global, Inc. Response

Good afternoon, Jaqueline Thomas purchased the Ivan Storage Ottoman from our ********** ** Ethan Allen on 5/15/2024 and accepted delivery on 8/7/2024. The client contacted the store after delivery thinking they had received the wrong fabric. The designer then visited the client's home with our store sample to compare against the ottoman received in home. The sample and customer merchandise matched. Ms.Thomas then escalated to management persisting the fabric was incorrect, at which point the District Manager advised a reorder would bring the same results as the fabric on the ottoman matches what was ordered. The client, dissatisfied, was then provided an option to return the ottoman, but we have not heard from the client since with confirmation either way.Review from Amanda B

I have been a 20 year customer of Ethan Allen. I purchased a dresser and night stand on November 29th; it is May 7th 2024 and I am still waiting on repairs, drawer replacements, and receiving calls about repair appointments. They no longer stand for quality, their service is horrible and Ikea provides better service. What happened to Ethan Allen's quality and workmanship?Ethan Allen Global, Inc. Response

Ethan Allen strives to deliver quality products and quality service. We understand there was a concern with the night stand drawer when it was delivered. The local service coordinator for Ethan Allen ordered a new drawer, sending in an existing one to ensure color match. Replacement drawer slides were also ordered. This did take longer than expected but the parts have arrived, updates were provided during the process and the new drawer is ready to be installed. we purchased our mattress and boxspring on 3/01/21. it came with a ten year warranty. after 6 months our sleep indentations were of the nature that we basically had to roll out of the indetations and could not turn, nor get comfortable. we have had the company out 2 times to look at it and they say its not bad enough to replace. i spoke to customer service at their headquarters and they said they would get back to me but never did. we have been a long time customer of this company with only this one product complaint. ethan allen is not an inexpensive product and i am a disappointed customer.Review from Holly A

Ethan Allen was a wonderful company with which to work. Our sales agent, Scout, was very knowledgeable. The furniture when it arrived was perfect. We got exactly what we had ordered and it was it impeccable condition. Their delivery team was excellent. They worked with our calendar, the men who brought the furniture were super polite and stayed to answer all our questions.Review from Ann N

Fraud! I ordered over 22K in furniture in August. Although, they charged my card in August, I still do not have my furniture. I know the final piece reached "a warehouse" the week before Christmas, but nobody will tell me when I will get my furniture. The store rep (Carol B**** - ******** **) that I bought from stopped retuning my calls and emails two months ago. I've called support 3 times. Each time they can't tell me exactly where my furniture is and when I will receive it. Each time they promised to find out and call me back. They have not called me back even once. I did manage to connect with Susan, a market leader for the ******** store. She again promised to find out when I would receive my furniture but never called my back. This company charged me almost 23K almost six months ago, but refuses to deliver my furniture or even tell me exactly where it is. The support workers REFUSE to escalate my case. This is FRAUD!!!!!!! If I don't have a delivery date by Monday January 29th, I will be reporting this fraud to my Credit Card companyReview from Oscar M

I purchased a bedroom set for my son in the ****** ** location, one of the night tables came defective and also the chest, they send a technician only to see the damaged items, he was not able to do anything, he mentioned that he was going to send the report and we will be contacted by now 4 weeks later no one has call me, longer waiting times to get the furniture and now that arrived is not good product, for the price and the wait time not happy at allEthan Allen Global, Inc. I have inherited a few Ethan Allen items from family and friends over the years and been happy. When it came time to get a new dining room table, I shopped around, but wanted a quality piece that I could have for a long while. I selected the Livingston Dining Table. It is made to order so I knew it would take a while. A couple of months later, the table was delivered seamlessly. I noticed right away that the tabletop's veneer had some lighter spots. It was noticeable, but not too bad and I just thought I was being particular. About a week later I noticed what looked like scratches on the surface. We hadn't used the table yet, so it didn't make sense. Upon closer inspection it was clear that these weren't scratches; the veneer was cracking from the underside. I contacted EA and they got back to me right away and asked for photos which I sent along. They told me that they would likely send someone out or just replace the top. Then they told me that it looks like water damage. Ok, but we haven't had a flood, ceiling leak, nor placed anything with moisture or heat even on the table. In fact, we weren't using the table because the veneer's cracks were spreading. And the wood had a clear break in it and was likely causing the crack. We reached out again and they just ghosted us. Never again. And, I have a friend who swears by EA and that's who his interior designer uses. Or used to. I told him what happened and showed him the damage, and said they just left us out to dry, $3k poorer and with a table that is going to just pop the veneer in a matter of months. I have owned Ethan Allen couches that I inherited for the last 20 years and they were amazing! The cushions never broke down and some of my guests preferred to sleep on the couch because it was so comfortable. Unfortunately, we lost everything in a house fire. We ordered two couches from Ethan Allen with the feather blend cushions because these are what we had before. Imagine my surprise when the cushions were about 1/2 the height of the sample ones in the store. You can feel the frame beneath the cushions. Every guest that comes over complains about them as well and is surprised when I tell them they are Ethan Allen couches. I have been going through the process of trying to get them replaced for over a year now. I was told they are indeed faulty, but that there's nothing they can do for me. I'm not asking for the couches to be replaced or even all the cushions, just the cushions you sit on. They told me it was my error because we didn't "fluff" them enough. There isn't even enough filling to fluff! I used my insurance replacement money to buy these and cannot afford alternate couches. To say I am heartbroken is an understatement. Not only did I lose all my earthly belongins in a fire, but now I have furniture that is almost unusable. Ethan Allen is now poor quality with terrible customer service! Horrible experience!! Bought my first set of furniture for my new house from Ethan Allen and have been very disappointed. First of all, they told me that I would receive my bedroom set in October when I ordered the set in July. Every piece came separate and way later than promised. I JUST received my bed December 30,2023. With that being said, 3 out of the 4 pieces had cosmetic issues. I have had multiple issues with my bedroom set and have not heard from anybody but the store manager. Claims that everybody at corporate is involved but have not heard from a single person from corporate. They want to take my bed set back and "hand paint" it themselves. Delivered the bed with touch ups that are not acceptable. I am not paying this amount for furniture to be hand painted and touched up. Black smudges and missing paint on every piece of furniture except for dresser. Also have not offered any compensation but refunding my delivery fee for all of my troubles. VERY disappointing. DID NOT pay this amount for furniture to get hand painted/touched up items that will not last a long time. I am just so furious that they have not offered to compensate for any of this.Ethan Allen Global, Inc. Response

Senior Management from our Corporate Office did have a long conversation with ***** * on 1/3/24 prior to receiving this review from the BBB. We believe that ***** * called our design center asking for the manager who was off that day, then asked for someone from corporate to call her. Our Senior Manager from our Corporate Office called her back that afternoon and we believe in the meantime she posted this with BBB earlier that day before we had the opportunity to address the concerns with her. ***** *’s order came from our manufacturing facility in ******** ******* that has experienced a natural disaster earlier this year which has unfortunately led to delays. As to resolve the delays and quality concerns provided by ***** *, we have reordered her items as to procure new ones, refunded her delivery fee, and provided an additional accommodation. The ******* manufacturing plant has been notified to color match and expedite the replacements, and we will also color match those items to the double dresser she has in her home currently. ***** * seemed pleased with this plan at the conclusion of our Senior Manager’s call with her.
