            In December of 2018 Better Business Bureau serving CT (BBB) opened an investigation on the business practices of Dejour Hawk Tribe after a Scam Tracker report was received and transparency concerns were identified. After a full review of the business website, BBB noted that the business made multiple claims of knowing how to clear debt for consumers and that these services could be performed for a fee. The website further contained several statements regarding how one can become a sovereign citizen. On April 18, 2019 the website in question was updated to include significantly less texts and written claims regarding the aforementioned issues, but still provides videos discussing discharging mortgage debt.

            Before providing any personal or financial information, BBB recommends that consumers first research the possible legal consequences of any offered credit repair services. Consulting with industry professionals such as lawyers or a credit councilors will allow consumers to receive clarification on any questions, concerns, and legalities regarding specific credit or financial issues.
