    I called Preston Service for an appointment to install a new skid plate on the bottom of my son’s 2010 Jeep Wrangler and to check on a fault code for the passenger-side anti-lock brake speed sensor. I dropped off the Jeep on the evening of 21 June. A few days later, I was told I also needed new parking brakes and cables and, ultimately, a brake lever, which I agreed to have them do. I picked up the Jeep for the first time on 29 June. Upon returning home, my son noticed the rear driver-side wheel was smoking. Apparently, replacement of the parking brake modules on the rear wheels caused unknown problems with the primary brakes. To their credit, Preston Service had the vehicle picked up by a flatbed tow truck at their expense and replaced the caliper on the rear passenger-side wheel. We picked up the Jeep a few days later and upon returning home, the rear driver-side wheel was still smoking. I returned the vehicle for a second time. On 7 July, the Preston Service advisor called to report an axle seal leak on the rear passenger-side of the vehicle. I was told there was no problem with the smoking rear brake on the driver-side I observed. In frustration with the service I was receiving, I picked up the Jeep that evening after losing confidence that the necessary work would be done successfully. I am 70 years old and this has been the worst automotive repair experience of my life and I believe their C+ BBB rating is too generous. UPDATE: On Saturday 8 July I brought the Jeep to a local Meineke shop. They flushed the brake lines and replaced both the rear axle seals and bearings and the brake rotors, pads and fluid lines. They also replaced the caliper on the driver-side. The total cost for the above work was considerably less than the amount already paid to Preston Service. The vehicle was ready by 4:00 pm on Monday 10 July, less than two days from start to finish. It's now 13 July and all seems fine with the vehicle.
